Well, here it is, my wedding page. I do suppose it should be called "My Engagement Page" since we're not married just yet...oh well. Who would have thought that I would ever be getting married. I'm the girl that yells out "Sucker" or "Don't do it" when I see a limo going by.
George and I met via the internet dating service named "Match.Com". I was surfing the net for the very first time when I came upon the "match.com" site. I figured "what the heck, nobody will ever find out who I am anyway"....WRONG. Anyway, I filled out all the necessary questions, picked out my anon name (CyberFox3), and sent of in quest of my perfect match. I sat there reading a bunch of different profiles of men when I came across one with the name "anon.bigcat". Being the type of person I am, I didn't e-mail him. Instead I turned off my computer and went home for the evening.
The next morining I came into work at I had 37 e-mails waiting for me. I glanced through all the names and read a few and then I came across one that sounded really familiar. It was from "anon.bigcat". I read his email and responded to it. Within a few minutes I received a message back from him. It just so happened that he was working at home that day, so we ended up sending messages back and forth all day long.
We continued corresponding by email for about a week and then I ended up giving him my phone number at work. Why you might ask? Well, it seems that one of his long time friends Howeird who lives in Washington, told him that I was probably a man posing as a female. I felt safe enough giving him my work number at this point, and finally he called me. Boy was I shocked! He had such a wonderful voice. I had already at this point seen pictures of him, but he had no clue what I looked like (only what I described to him). While we were talking he mentioned if I could send him a picture and he gave me his home address. I mailed off my photo to him the very next day.
Well, to make a long story short, he received my picture, called me and we set up a date to meet for lunch for after I returned from the Keys. The entire time I was in the Keys I couldn't stop thinking about him! I came back from my vacation and still had 2 more days before I could meet him. Those were the longest two days of my life. I picked out the place where we would meet and set the time up with him. I was there 10 minutes early, and he was late. I was just about ready to give up and leave when he showed up behind me. He was everything I thought he would be....and more. We had a wonderful lunch, which by the way went way too fast, and neither one of us were able to eat anything.
At the end of lunch we were walking towards my car when he said that he had something for me in his car. I told him that I too had something for him. I went to my car and got a rose made of palm tree leafs that I had bought for him while I was in the Keys, and gave it to him. Then we walked over to his car where he gave me 4 purple carnations. He said that he remembered that 4 was my favorite number and that purple was my favorite color. Talk about melting!! I gave him a good-bye hug and he wouldn't let go (LOL). Then I gave him a kiss. Hmmmmmm :)
Later we emailed one another and he told me that after I left him at his car some guys had yelled to him from a car "You got the big kiss huh?". I guess it's a man thing. :) He was everything that I had dreamed him up to be and then some. George said that he was pleased with me and that was it. I met him a few days later when he performed in a show that he wrote, directed, and acted in. Then the next day we met to go to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz (which we never made it to). Finally November we were officially a couple, and by December we were talking marriage.
Then the big day came on January 17, 1998 when we became engaged. George took me on a 10 mile (yes! 10 miles) hike through the Big Basin Redwoods where we came to a beautiful waterfall called Berry Creek Falls. We had lunch at the top of the falls and then hiked down to the viewing platform. George got down on one knee and proposed to me next.
Everything was so perfect, especially George. The wedding is set for the 20th of June, 1998 with Neal King as the Best Man, Marc Dias as a groomsman, Mayra Bernebe as the Maid of Honor, and Veronica Cullen as a bridesmaid.
It's amazing what these computer's can do. I NEVER in a million years thought that I would meet the right person, let alone meet the right person through a computer. Well, that's how we met, fell in love, and became engaged.
Here is our engagement picture. I do hope that you enjoy the pictures that I selected to share with everyone. I will be putting up more and more and the months pass by and then again after we return home from our honeymoon.
