APPLYING FOR A PERMIT
- A completed formula
- Include a copy of the specifications and plans drawn to scale, for the buildings(s) for which work is to be done. The plans and specifications must include:
- The dimensions of the building(s)
- The proposed use for each room or floor area
- The dimensions of the plot of land on which the building(s) is/are located or will be located
- The location of the well and of the septic system (a permit is necessary for installation)
- The location, height and the horizontal dimensions of all buildings on the plot of land mentioned
- Plans and elevation, drawn to scale, required for the understanding of the project
- Public and private easements affecting the plot of land
- Indicate the dimensions and locations of all the elements of the structure with sufficient precion to allow the inspector to check the calculations when so required
- Give sufficient details to allow for the computation of bearing weights of materials, when required by the inspector
- Detail all the influences and all loads and overloads, other than permanent loads, taken into accounts in the computation of structural elements, when required by the inspector
- Include the analysis and the computation of the structural elements of a building, when required by the inspector
- Include a study of the soil, when required by the inspector, and
- Indicate the boundary lines of public adjacent roads.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE SHOWN ON THE PLAN
- The north axis
- All the distances
- All the elements on your land
- All accurate measurements
- The slopes
- The distance from water
- The future location of any project building(s)
- The date
Permits and certificates are compulsory before works begin. ALL applications must be made 30 days (1 month) BEFORE starting your project.These regulations are due for amendment in the spring of 1998.
