Chapter 2: Strange Happenings
Reno yawned as he awoke.
---Wow. Some really strange happenin's.
He then sat up and stretched out his arms.
---Incredibly strange.
As
he got up, he heard a giggle.
---"Look how strange that man is."
Reno turned around to see Elena smiling at
him. "I see you're awake" said Reno, smiling back "How are you feeling
today"
---Very human.... I mean, good.
"I slept like a rock last night" said Elena "I felt a little queasy, but
I didn't have to get up"
---Yeah... whatever.
"Good thing we're going to the doctor today. You'll probably find out
what's going on"
Suddenly, Elena got up and ran into the bathroom.
---I bet you've figued out that she's pregnant by now.
Reno sighed as he put on a robe, for Elena had gotten another nausea
attack.
---For Elena? Wha?
He then walked downstairs. Aerith was up already, making
breakfast and watering her flowers as usual. "Good morning, Reno" said
in her usual friendly manner.
---Who said?
Reno sat down and said "'Mornin. How's
Vincent"
---Well, he's feeling very Human today!
"Vincent was sleeping quite well when I checked on him. I don't think
he had any more nightmares" replied Aerith.
"Speaking of dreams, I heard you talking in your sleep last night. What
was that all about?"
---I WAS ASLEEP! HOW WOULD I KNOW?
"You probably won't believe this, but Rufus appeared to me in a dream.
He said that he was a free spirit and wouldn't hurt me.
---Because he's dead.
He only wanted
to know about Vincent's recent nightmares. I told him and he said he'd
remember it. Then he said was going off to terrorize Palmer"
---My favorite character in the game.
"Interesting" said Reno
---"That's some Strange Happenings"
Elena then came downstairs "What were you talking about?" she asked
"I'll tell you later" said Reno "Now let's eat"
Cid walked downstairs quietly, being careful not to wake anyone.
---*Crunch* oops. Sorry, I didn't mean to step on you there.
In his left arm he held Alexander,
---The giant robot.
his and Shera's adopted son. Alex,
as Cid liked to call him, was five months old and already attached to
Cid.
---He's a Kling-on. Heh heh heh.... sorry, that was pretty bad.
He sat Alex down in his highchair and gave him a fresh bottle.
Just as Cid was about to fix himself breakfast, there was a knock at the
door. At the door stood
---ED MCMAHON!!!!
Palmer in his underwear, clutching a stuffed
toy. "I had that dream again" he moaned "Can I sleep-"
---Well, I guess not.
Palmer was cut
off as Cid slammed the door in his face. Shera then came downstairs.
"Was that Palmer again?" she asked.
---Was it those boys in dark suits again?
"Of course" growled Cid "Fatman really needs to be put in a home now. I
think he's going senile. By the way, did you check on #14" #14 was what
---#14" #14 Uh.... that's correct sentence structure but it still looks funny.
Cid called the creature he had found in the abandoned laboratory. #14
had been taken to the doctor's office, where he was cleaned up and and
his injuries treated. #14 was given his nickname because of the XIV
found carved into his upper right arm.
---I wonder if that's based on Red XIII.
"He was still sleeping. Red XIII said he'd talk to him when he wakes
up" Red XIII was visiting for a few days and sleeping in the same room
as #14.
---Now they still need 1 to 12.
"I'll check on him after we visit Cloud and Tifa today.
Right now I've
got to feed Alex" said Cid as heated up some oatmeal.
---Better not be that Quaker Instant oatmeal. I don't like that stuff.
Alex clapped his
hands and squealed in delight once the oatmeal was served. "Just like me
when I was little" smiled Cid.
---I really loved my oatmeal.
Shera smiled too, anticipating a good
day.
---And some "Strange Happenings".
Red XIII stretched as he awoke.
---Instantly breaking his spine. THE END.
He then walked over and sat on
---A bug.
he bed that #14 was sleeping in. He was now laying beneath the
blankets,
---Strange place to be when you're sleeping, huh.
curled in a fetal position, apparently to keep warm. As Red
placed a paw on his back, he began to move.
---Who's moving?
Red watched as #14 began to
wake up. Finally, #14 lifted his head out from beneath the blankets and
opened his eyes.
---I will now eat your soul.
The two stared at each other for awhile.
---You have a very kind face.
Finally, Red
spoke up " My name is Nanaki"
---I own part of the compan Naki, which makes video game console peripherals.
but everyone calls me Red XIII" he said
"I'm known as #14 to everyone here" said #14 "but my true name is Kefka"
---Don't tell me...
Red XIII gasped "Are you the same Kefka who was possessed by the entity
Zeromus"
---YES! It's the amazing FF2, 3 and 7 fusion fic!
"Same one" said Kefka. There was a sad tone in his voice. "When I was
being infused with magic, they thought Zeromus was an Esper and they
used him.
---They used me. So I broke up with them.
However, Zeromus was using it as an opportunity to get a new
body. He took quite the advantage, wreaking the destruction he never
got a chance to do.
---So in other words, it never happened? Or..... what?
Eventually I was defeated and Zeromus left my
body.
---I just wasn't good enough for him.
Later on, a strange creature found me. It looked like a human
with six arms and glowing red eyes.
---6 glowing eyes?
It had the lower half and legs of
giant spider. It enslaved me and beat me constantly.
---Uh...... not even going to ask.
Now that I
remember, it's name was Hojo"
---"Well, Kefka, those are some pretty STRANGE HAPPENINGS, Now aren't they?
"That was the name of the scientist that kidnapped and experimented on
me! He was defeated by me and my friends.
---He also made invented FMV, which ruined anything it touched!
Maybe he created a way to
bring himself back. But I don't know how he mutated like that."
Kefka was now holding back tears. He released a choked sob and hugged
Red.
---And he released a hugged red.
"It's all right" whispered Red XIII, who then gave Kefka a
reassuring lick.
---Bleck.
Kefka continued to embrace Red, tears running down his
face. He then released his grip and lay back down, burying his face in
a pillow.
---And died. THE END.
"Kefka, are you alright" asked Red. There was no answer.
---Okay, Just so you know, the author put some of red's thoughts in Greater than and Less than signs, so you won't see them. I'll tell you what they say. There is one right here that says "He's crying"
weeping.
---"He needs to let it all out. He's been through far too much to hold back his emotions now." My comment--No he hasn't, get back to work.
and lay down next to him, knowing that they'd both fall asleep sooner or
later...
---But they didn't.
Yuffie walked along the trail that led through the Wutai
Mountains. She had finished her training session hours ago and was
exploring her homeland.
---Pretty strange happening, huh?
As she walked towards one of the trails, she
heard a noise. It was coming from an abandoned well.
---Help! It's me Timmy! Did lassy fetch you?
Yuffie walked over
to it. She gasped in shock as a blond-haired man dressed in blue
climbed out.
---That happens to lawyers a lot.
"Pardon me, m'lady, but do you where I am?"
---You're on private property. I'm sorry but I'll have to call the authorities.
"You're in the country of Wutai" replied Yuffie
"Do you know where the Figaro Kingdom would happen to be?"
---It's in my sand box. I can take you there.
"Never heard of it"
"Well, do you know of the town of Narshe?"
"Nope"
"The Doma Kingdom?"
---ANYWHERE?!?!!?
"Doma Kingdom...Doma Kingdom..Yes. That's what this place was call 1500
years ago!
---Okay, so I'll call 1-500- what was that number again?
Are you from there?"
"Um...I'll explain later. Where is your village?"
---Take me to your leader.
"It's over that way. I'll take you there. By the way, what's your name?"
"Edgar Figaro" he grinned.
---Showing that he hadn't brushed his teeth in a while.
