effective communication purposes.

talent showcase sometime next year in February or March.

There are still some I.O.U's to be taken care of however. Also, Genie is asking
for every school to turn in a copy of their school's logo (1" x 1") to be used
as an upcoming t-shirt design for SCPASA. More details to come. If you have any
suggestions or ideas for the t-shirt, please see Genie.
Education Chair-Jay reported that if there are any schools in need of
information pertaining to anything academic, please see him for any
hookups.

IV. Old Business
Filipino WWII Veterans- At the CSUN meeting, a motion was made by
CSUN's Moonie Lantion for SCPASA to support non-profit community
organizations to support the Filipino WWII Veterans. CSUF seconded the
motion. After a brief discussion of the issue, a vote of 10-0-2 were in
favor of supporting the Filipino WWII Veterans. The Filipino veterans, our "lolos",
are the only ethnic group currently receiving no U.S. benefits for their role
in WWII. Every club and organization are urged to contact their House of
Representative congressman to vote YES on the H.R. Bill 836 titled,
"Filipino Veterans Equity Bill" in order for our "lolos" to receive the benefits
they are definitely entitled to for fighting under the U.S. flag during WWII.
Suggestions of petitioning, writing a letter, and making phone calls were made as a
show of support.

Mark Pulido from FilCRA (Filipino Civil Rights Association) spoke on
behalf of the Filipino Veterans. One of the major purposes of FilCRA is to see
that all Filipinos are treated equally.

Mang Peping Baclig from (ACFV) American Coalition for Filipino Veterans,
who happens to be one of the courageous Filipino veterans who served in
WWII made an emotional speech by sharing his experiences and urging SCPASA
schools and students to support them.
