Taiki, a member of the popular band the Three Lights, is an intelligent man who seems to be smarter than Ami. Unlike Ami though, Taiki does not see the universe romanticly, but instead as an exact science. This doesn't make a lot os sense considerind he's waiting for his princess to come.
As a Sailorstarlight, he believes that fighting is the answer, but when he first transformed and had to fight his teacher who had been turned into a Farce (someone who has had their starseed taken away) Ami was there and she did not want to hurt her teacher. Taiki, in turn, whether he felt sorry for his teacher or wanted to be seen better in Ami's eyesattacked the teacher just so it would only knock him out.
