All About Me
Hi this here is going to be my basic life story, with some minor details left out. OK so here goes... I was born in the Katherine Bibby hospital in Kenya, Africa, on February 25th, 1980. That makes me 19 years old, in case the math doesn't add up for you. For two years we lived in Africa. My dad was there with the Peace Corps after having graduated from Berkeley. My dad was born in Santa Monica and raised in Malibu. My mom was born in Germany, and after doing well in her language classes at school (and miserably failing all her other ones, which is why I have such incredible math abilities), she became a travel agent working in one of the game parks in Kenya, coordinating safaris for the French, Germans, Brits, and so on. They met and *BANG* there I was. We then moved to Germany for about 8 months and lived with my mom's mom. I learned to speak German there, and after that we came here to live in the U.S., where we've been ever since. I went to Monte Vista elementary school (not that anyone cares, but I figure only my friends will read this, so they'll know what I'm talking about), and then went to Santa Barbara Middle School for 7th through 9th grades. I learned all about life and friends and respect and all that good stuff (hard to explain to somebody who hasn't been) and then went to San Marcos High School, which I finally finished in June of '98. I played volleyball and soccer on the school teams, but otherwise could care less about my school, no spirit for me. I think I've been to a couple of football games and one dance. I'm going to UC Berkeley ("Berserkeley") where I am going to double-major in Biology and English. If I can possibly pull that off, but I give it a snowball's chance in hell. Too bad I don't believe in hell. Nevermind. After that, who knows...? Maybe a teacher or a writer or a research scientist or something along those lines. I'll find out as I go. Things I like and like to do:
I like surfing
and I really like to travel. I've been to places like Venice
and been to lakes like this one in Canada.
I've been to Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Canada, Barbados,
Martinique, Fiji, and Sardinia, but only been in about 5 U.S. states. Traveling is a good way to learn more about yourself and the society you live in, and it has been a really good thing for me to go out and see how other people live. Whatever I do for a career, I would like to see more of the world.
