Cowboy Lingo
- Wild Rag = Silk neckerchief
- Fell over the hill= Went over the top of the saddle and down the other side.
- Blow Up= A horse, mule, or bull, bucking.
- Rodeo= A horse, mule, or bull, Blowing up with you on top!
- Rig= Truck
- Outfit= Truck and trailer.
- "In need of a six pack of brains!" = A dumb horse. (Note: this can also be used for a dumb anything)
- Dark:30= when you are late or you can't find your watch in the dark. - i.e. "I'll be home by dark:30" or "What time is it?" "Dark:30" or "What time will we get there?" "Dark:30"
- Jingle Bobs= Extra piece of metal dangling from the spurs, that makes a chime noise when you walk.(Note: The jingle-bob's purpose, is to let a skittish horse know you are coming up)
- Colt= A male horse less than 6 years old.
- Portero= Mountain Flats used to raise colts
- "Don't go anywhere without a horse"= Words to stay alive by, according to rancher Lamar Johnston.
- Tabasco Sauce= A unit of measure for time. i.e. "They've been married so long, the're on their second bottle of Tabasco Sauce. (Note: this unit varies in measure from house-hold to house-hold)
