Courtney's birth story

I awoke to the nudging of my wife Amber. I looked at the clock and it was around 2:30 A.M. " Hun, I've been having contractions for a few hours." So we started timing them and they were about 5 minutes apart. I remember saying, " I gotta take a shower first, we're gonna be there all day." I was so tired. I had just went to bed a few hours earlier.

Amber called the hospital and they advised us to come in. At 3:20 A.M. , Amber's mom and sister came over to watch Lindsey. After a few quick instructions, we were on our way.

Upon arrival at Desert Valley Birthplace, we were taken into the delivery room. As Amber got into her gown, I looked up at the clock and it was already 3:40 A.M. The nurse informed me that Amber's Midwife, Melissa, was on call until 8:00 A.M. That was great news for Amber.

I flipped on the T.V. to , and watched

Last time I saw that cartoon, I was in grade school.

Well, Melissa came in soon after and had Amber start walking around. Then she broke her water and every thing started moving very quickly.

Melissa put on what I call "Riot Gear," and sat in the rocking chair and waited. She said she would stay past 8:00A.M. for the delivery. She was so kind.

Before long, beads of sweat covered Amber's forehead. She was breathing hard and squeasing my hand off. I felt the tears coming on, but couldn't let them out. I knew it would be soon. Amber was doing so well. Then there she was, another little blessing. GOD had once again, answered all our prayers for a healthy little baby.

It was now 8:45 A.M.,Courtney wasn't making much noise, so they quickly cut the cord, and cleared her lungs. She started to cry. They cleaned her up and put her under the heat lamp. I stood near by whispering her name, as she held my pinkie. We had been blessed once again.
