Here it is, folks! The original 8/14/54 Dinah Jams LP, converted to CD, and with some added bonus tracks. This is the U.S. version of this CD in a traditional jewel case, NOT the Japanese version in a small cardboard cover. It was pressed in 1990 and is long out of print. Along with the 8 tracks from the original LP, this CD contains the bonus tracks Darn that Dream, Crazy He Calls Me, and I'll Remember April. Absolutely, unabashed, pure jazz, with MF blowing his brains out on a number of passages! A MUST!

Here's the 8/14/54 Dinah Jams LP, converted to CD. This is the German version of this CD in a traditional jewel case, NOT the Japanese version in a small cardboard cover. But it WAS produced for the Japanese market, as the writing on the back insert is in both English and Japanese. It includes all 8 tracks from the original LP. Absolutely, unabashed, pure jazz, with MF blowing his brains out on a number of passages! A MUST!

Here's a fantastic import CD which features 7 tracks from the famous 8/14/54 Jam Session in Los Angeles, with not only MF blowing at his best, but the fantastic vocals of Dinah Washington as well as the trumpet greats Clifford Brown and Clark Terry. The track "Move" is just fantastic! The mastering on this CD is outstanding. I can hear things on this copy that I haven't heard on other versions, including the EmArcy CD. There's over 70 minutes of music on this great CD.

Here's a fantastic 2005 import 4-CD set which features 10 tracks from the famous 8/14/54 Jam Session in Los Angeles on disc 4, all with MF. Discs 1, 2, and 3 are jam-packed with additional Dinah Washington tunes. If you want to know more about her diverse career, this is an excellent sampling. Nicely packaged in a thin cardboard box, this is a must have for completist MF collectors.

Here's a fantastic 1999 import 2-CD set which features 10 tracks from the famous 8/14/54 Jam Session in Los Angeles on disc 1, all with MF. Disc 2 has other 14 other memorable Dinah tracks, but none with MF. This is an extremely hard CD to find here in the U.S., and it's nicely mastered, with not only MF blowing at his best, but the fantastic vocals of Dinah Washington as well as the trumpet greats Clifford Brown and Clark Terry coming through strong. Grab one while you can.

Here's a GREAT 1994 CD! It's a Verve compilation of some of Dinah's greatest hits. MF fans will be particularly interested in the track that includes MF -- Darn that Dream from the Jam Session LP. However, it's got most of Dinah's big hits on it, as well, and I love to listen to this CD!

I just listened to the entire CD again for the first time in a few years, and it's just amazing music ... period!

Here's a Spanish release of tracks from the 8/14/54 Jam Session. This CD is quite hard to find here in the U.S.
COPY #1. This copy is a very nice NMINT+. It's $12.00.
COPY #2. Just in, this copy has a little piece of clear tape on the front booklet, as well as a little writing, which can't be seen unless the case is opened. The disc itself has a couple of visible scuffs, but it plays perfectly (guarnated). With these minor defects I'd rate this copy as just EX. It's 7.00.

DINAH WASHINGTON, DINAH JAMS (JAPANESE PRESSING) – Mercury PHCE-3053

This is a fantastic Japanese audiofile CD pressing of the 1954 Dinah Jams LP. Like the original LP, this CD comes in a small cardboard sleeve, modeled after the original album cover. It's like having a tiny LP cover. Just a splendid and now out-of-print pressing.
COPY #1. Just in, I finally found another copy of this relatively rare CD. This one is possibly used, but it's still in the original Japanese factory protective sleeve, has the original obi (loose paper band) on the edge of the cover, the original inner liner notes, and for all intents and purposes, it's in MINT condition. Just a splendid copy. Yours for $18.00.

This is a Danish import CD, released in 1989 and now out of print, which contains four tracks from the famous 8/14/54 Jam Session in Los Angeles featuring Dinah, Clifford Brown, Clark Terry, and MF. There are 13 tracks, in all, on this CD. Tracks with MF include Introduction, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, No More, and Darn that Dream.

COPY #3. This one was just purchased as part of a small collection. It has clean and nice case and liner paper, but the disc itself has numerous fine scratches. I played it completely through to make sure it plays OK, and it plays perfectly. So let's call this an EX- copy, and it's priced accordingly at just $5.00.

Here's an out-of-print CD from 1999 with 17 tracks by various artists. Included is MF on the track I've Got You Under My Skin from 8/14/54 with Dinah Washington, Clifford Brown, and Clark Terry. Also, it has the June Christy track Something Cool with Pete Rugolo and His Orchestra from 1953, likewise with MF in the orchestra. This CD is increasingly hard to find!!!
