Salena Jones CDs with Maynard Ferguson

SALENA JONES, THE MOMENT OF TRUTH / EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' ABOUT SALENA JONES (UK RELEASE) -- Vocalion CDSML 8422

Most of you know that Maynard played on two Salena Jones LPs in the UK: The Moment of Truth (CBS 63613, 1969) and Everybody's Talkin' About Salena Jones (CBS 63901, 1970). Those LPs are long out of print, and fairly hard to obtain these days. However, in 2006, the UK company Vocalion reissued the tracks from both LP on this great CD. MF is subdued on many tracks, but really wails on a couple. Jones' vocals are quite good ... I really enjoy listening to them. Overall, this is an excellent CD, and a must for every serious MF collector.
