June Christy CDs with Maynard Ferguson

Here's the great June Christy album entitled Something Cool plus a ton of bonus material. The original LP was recorded in MONO on 8/2/54, with Maynard in the trumpet section. Later, on 10/15/60, it was re-recorded in STEREO, but Maynard was NOT in the band that time around. This CD contains the original MONO pressing with MF. It also includes the bonus tracks Not I and Whee Baby which came out only as a 45 originally, plus there's a lot of other bonus material on the disc, as well. This CD was issued in 1991, and this version is long out of print. A very nice and very desirable CD with MF.
COPY #1. I believe this is the first copy of this CD I've ever had for sale on the website. It's in great, NMINT+ condition, totally intact, with no issues of any kind. It's $9.00.

Here's the great June Christy album entitled Something Cool. The original LP was recorded in MONO on 8/2/54, with Maynard in the trumpet section. Later, on 10/15/60, it was re-recorded in STEREO, but Maynard was NOT in the band that time around. This CD contains BOTH the original MONO pressing with MF and the re-issue STEREO version without MF. It's really cool listening to both versions and comparing them. I really like the MONO version better, but as you know, I'm always going to be prejudiced toward the version with MF. This CD was issued in 2001, and now out of print. A very nice and very desirable CD with MF.
COPY #1. This one has a cut in the backing paper on the spine. The jewel case is new so the only problem with at small cut in the paper (a cut-out item). The disc itself is NMINT++. Due to the cut it's just $4.00.

JUNE CHRISTY, JUNE CHRISTY SINGS SOMETHING COOL (U.K. RELEASE) -- Living Era CD AJA 5570

This CD came out in 2005, and it not only includes several tracks from the Something Cool LP, backed by the Pete Rugolo Orchestra, but also tracks with Stan Kenton, and the tracks Whee Baby and Not I, whioh were originally only available as 45s. MF plays on many of these tracks, both in the Kenton Orchestra and the Rugolo Orchestra.

JUNE CHRISTY, THE BEST OF JUNE CHRISTY: THE JAZZ SESSIONS -- Capitol Jazz CDP 7243 8 53922 2 1/h2> This CD came out in 1996 and is a compilation of a number of tunes from Christy's career. Included is MF on Something Cool, recorded 8/14/53.
COPY #1. This is the first copy of this CD I've had available on the website. It's NMINT+. $8.00.

JUNE CHRISTY, THE MISTY MISS CHRISTY -- Capitol Jazz CDP 7 98452 2

June Chrisy released The Misty Miss Christy LP in 1956. THE LP OF THIS RECORDING DOES NOT HAVE MAYNARD PRESENT. However, this 1992 version on CD has two bonus tracks, You Took Advantage of Me and Intrigue, both of which include MF with the Pete Rugolo Orchestra. These tracks were recorded on 5/23/56, and were available only on 45 for many years. So this is the best way to get good quality reproductions of those two tracks.
COPY #1. The inserts and the case on this one are almost like new. So is the disc. This is a splendid NMINT+ copy. It's yours for $8.00.
