Here's how to resize the desktop:
right click on the desktop
choose properties
choose settings
move the slider for desktop size to the right
you can choose 1 step larger or 2 steps larger
(mine is one step larger (800 X 600)-the larger you go the more room you see but the petz look smaller)
choose ok
you will need to restart the computer for it to take effect
you may find that now your icons are too small - to make them bigger do this:
right click on the desktop
choose properties
choose appearance
open the box marked item and choose icons
increase the size (mine is at 40)
go back to the settings tab
open the font size window & choose large fonts
choose ok
restart
