What Carnival Means To Me...
Carnival has great meaning to me. The basis of its lyrics are to try and solve your problems in life - about how everyone has different obstacles that must be ‘jumped over’ in order to move on. About how sometimes, it’s really hard to get through whatever it is that went wrong.
This song reminds me to analyze my problems and figure out what I can do to solve them. That, opposed to running up to your room and crying; which really solves nothing in the end.
Even in the toughest of situations, it helps a great deal if you know there’s someone there for you backing you up. Obviously, if you’re in a fight with your family for say, THEY won’t go on your side and THEY won’t tell you not to worry. So it helps hearing Raine tell you that everything will be alright. Having someone on your side with every stitch your in really builds your confidence. It always helps to hear someone say "it’s alright, it’s alright" - even when you realize that he had not written that to you directly, it connects to you only... making it just as special.
This is the song that guides me through my problems. This is the song that gives me the strength to get up and try to fix my dilemmas. This is the song that reminds me to never give up on myself.
