Diablo Spells Listing

All character classes have the ability to learn and cast spells. There are two ways in which a character can increase in spell level(s). Characters can buy or find books that increase a single spells when the character reads them or find shrines that increase spell level(s). *Best shrine in the game is the enchanted shrine. This shrine lowers the spell level of one spell your currently know, and increases all other spells that you currently know by one level* The sorcerer is far and away the best at learning and casting spells. Sorcerers can attain the highest level of spells (base maximum of 15th level) with little help from magical items. Rogues and warriors on the other hand have a very difficult time attaining the higher spell levels. To attain the medium spell levels both the rogue and warrior must receive help from many magical items to increase their magic attribute enough to read the spell books. The rogue can attain a higher magic attribute than the warrior, thus have a small advantage over the warrior class. Generally speaking all spells do more damage and last longer the higher the level of the spell.
Spells


Spells Found Only On Scrolls or Staves
Apocalypse - Apocalypse causes all creatures on the screen to be incinerated in flame. This is the most powerful spell in the game. Apocalypse causes fire damage.
Identify - Identify allows the caster to discover the magical properties of one item in the caster's inventory.
Infravision - Infravison allows the caster to see all creatures on the screen. If the creatures are behind walls or around corners infravision will show the creature in a masked red color. Infravision lasts for a random amount of time, and goes away after exiting the current level.
Nova - Casting nova causes a ring of lightning to shoot out and continue moving until it hits a wall. Nova causes lightning damage.
Resurrection - Resurrection allows the caster to bring a fellow player back to life.


Spells
Bloodstar - When casted, bloodstar creates a red ball of energy that is shot out from the caster. Bloodstar spell causes magical damage.
Bone Spirit - When casted, bone spirit releases a spirit that flies into a creature(s) causing the creature(s) to lose 1/3 of it's hit points. Bone Spirit causes magical damage.
Chain Lightning - Chain Lightning creates several bolts of lighting that go in any direction a creature may be. Chain Lightning causes lightning damage.
Charged Bolt - Charged Bolt creates three small bolts of electricity that move in random directions and eventually die out. Charged Bolt causes lightning damage.
Elemental - When cast, elemental creates a fiery man that runs out of the caster's body and runs into the closest creature(s) and then explodes like a fireball. Elemental causes fire damage.
Fireball - A ball of molten lava that does a massive amount of damage. Fireball causes fire damage.
Firebolt - A bolt of fire that does a little bit of damage. Firebolt causes fire damage.
Firewall - When cast, firewall creates a giant wall of fire that extends from wall to wall. Firewall causes fire damage.
Flamewave - When cast, flamewave creates a moveable firewall that continues to move until it hits a wall. Flamewave causes fire damage.
Flash - Flash affects everything within an eight square radius of where the caster is standing. Flash is the most useless of all the spells. Flash causes fire damage.
Golem - When cast, golem creats a stone man that raises from the ground and fights by your side until it is killed.
Guardian -Guardian creates a three headed hydra that protrudes from the ground where the caster designates. Each head shoots a fireball at any creature in the general area. Guardian causes fire damage.
Healing - Healing allows the caster to recover hit points.
Heal Other - Heal Other allows the caster to heal a fellow player.
Holy Bolt - Holy Bolt only works on undead creatures.
Inferno - Inferno shoots out a small flame that has a limited range. Inferno causes fire damage.
Lightning - Lightning fires a bolt of static electricity from the caster's hands. Lightning causes lightning damage.
Mana Shield - When cast, mana shield turns all available mana and all mana used thereafter into hit points until the spell is dispelled by taking more damage than mana available.
Phasing - Phasing will randomly teleport the caster to another location within a small area.
Stone Curse - Stone Curse turns a specified creature into stone, allowing players to attack freely without being block or counterattaked.
Telekinesis - Telekinesis allows the caster to pick itmes up from long distances, to push a creature back a step, to open a chest, and to pull levers.
Teleport - Teleport allows the caster to "jump" to an area specified by the caster.
Town Portal - When cast, town portal creates a portal that players can use to return to town.
