You as a firecracker
Pushing out, splitting
Spinning last with a scowl
Then bursting, sinking, fading
Still etched in vision
You, a moon-like sun through clouds
I glimpse moment to moment
Day past day. Night erodes
Your soft edge of brilliance
It’s the sunsets that do me in
-like chocolate can-
they burn and turn me sideways,
split me open until I
am faded, like you,
(now spent) still enchased on sky.
