OLP's History

Our Lady Peace formed in 1992 in Toronto, played some shows togther and were eventually signed by Sony music in 1993. They began working on their first album, Naveed, it has 11 songs and was recorded in a small studio in Toronto, Naveed was realesed in May of '94 , after it was realesed they spent 2 and a half years on the road, playing with a variety of bands like Bush, Elastica, Ramones and many more. In une of '94 Starseed became a hit climbing Rock and Alternative charts in both Canada and America. In July of '94 I Mother Earth invited Our Lady Peace on a cross Canada tour that would spand over the Summer. In March of '95 Our Lady Peace began touring the States and played a few songs at M.T.V. In April of '95 Our Lady Peace played with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant which was a great honor for them. In May of '95 Naveed was finaly realesed in the States, a year later than Canada. In June of '95 Our Lady Peace toured with Van Halen, after turning Van Halen down a few times they finally agreed. That September, their bass player Chris Eacrett left the band, and was later replaced by Duncan Coutts. January of '96 Our Lady Peace began recording their second album clumsy. In July of '96 they played Edgefest, after that they went on a 2 week tour with Alanis Morissette. Finaly in December of '96 Superman's dead single was realesed to radio stations acrooss Canada, in January of '97 they did a University tour and also on January 16th they realesed Clumsy in Canada, it was due to be realesed in the States on April 15th.
