I encourage everyone to check out The Atomic Punks, a tribute band to early Van Halen. This Southern California quartet rock your socks off!!! Last show I caught was at Scruffy O'Shea's in Marina Del Rey on Dec. 1 and as always, the punks were at their best! Not only did they put on a wild show, they had it video taped for viewing on their website. Ralph, the lead singer, not only is hot stuff, but he's got Diamond Dave's moves down - and some may say he is better than his originator. Brian does Eddie's riffs beautifully and Mike and Scott just round out the bunch for an awesome treat to experience. You can tell these guys know what they are doing and LOVE WHAT THEY DO! Don't get me wrong, they don't think they're Van Halen, they just love old Van Halen and it shows in their amazingly realistic, power packed, stage performance! So next time you have a chance, go check them out - it will be worth the extra mile!!!!
Dedicated to Talents of My FriendsHere is an excerp from a poem written by a very talented friend of mine. His poetry is fascinating, enjoyable, and very thought provoking. Please read on to experience a taste of his incredible talent. by Chesh The things you do to me and never speak, the things you do to me and never move: Without a kiss you bring to me your love; without a search I find the love I seek. This love we share, our love, is simply here; without an invitation it has come, ignored us when we tried to send it home, refused at last to leave one room for fear... No need to issue proclamations, shout the fact from rooftops, publish in the news; no need to ask or tell, to check or choose: We have become undoubtable to doubt! Our love is here, more real than any vow, than any kiss, and so I kiss you now. When love is older I shall love you more and better know how much I love you now, without the poetry to half explore my love or half express your why, our how. When I am older I shall have more words, but I shall also have more silent spaces: My sonants cannot grow to match love's surds, nor sonnets ever harmonize love's faces... As you grow older you shall grow more lovely as loveliness and love unite to grow from grace to grater grace, to heights above me, to depths where love must leave its words to go: Our love can only prove as we grow old... Beyond all love can tell stands Love untold!!! If you enjoyed this excerp, then please go and enjoy the whole poem, This Time, My Love. And if that tickles your fancy, check out Traumstadt, where you can find more provacative poetry/prose by Chesh.
