Year 2002, year of the ram, is also the year when water clashes with fire.  This is an excellent year to plant a tree to sooth the water against fire.  Potted plants can also be placed within the home or outdoors in auspcious locations to increase chi and provide fresh oxygen to the home.  Aside from the feng shui benefits, plants also provide a soothing environment for its occupants.

If you are missing a corner from your home, ie. if your home is not a perfect rectangle, place a plant at the outside of your home where the corner is missing, extending the boundary of the home.

All Michelia species are evergreen plants unless grown in extremely cold locations. Therefore, they are excellent for the patio or courtyard, either potted or placed in the ground.
