The Excel Energy Centre.

I visited the Excel Energy Centre in St. Paul Minnesota in the fall of 2000 with Bart Louden, Bryce Meister, and Rob McLeod. We left Winnipeg early on a Sunday morning, arrived in St. Paul about two hours before the game, and then drove straight back to Winnipeg through the night. The road conditions were terrible each way - we passed car after car in the ditch. Thankfully we stayed on the road, because I had an important engagement for 9 a.m. that Monday morning. The trip was definitely worth it (including the $80 CAN tickets), and the outcome of the game? Oilers won 5-4 in overtime.

The scoreboardThis building was amazing. We really noticed a difference in sound quality from the 'ol barn in Winnipeg.

Tommy Salo with an unidentified trainer Here is Tommy Salo with an unidentified trainer. Incidentally, Salo didn't even play a minute of this game - it was all Gage.

The tunnelHere come the players. I am standing in the dark Oilers jersey at the front left corner of the tunnel.
