These pictures are from the 1997-98 playoffs. The Oilers were playing the Colorado Avalanche in the first round; this was game four of the series. I drove from Winnipeg for the game with a couple of friends, Bryce Meister and Rob McLeod. The Oilers went on to lose this one (a heartbreaker), but miraculously came back to win the series with a seventh game, 4-0 win in Denver.

This is my favourite Edmonton Oiler, Billy Guerin. He's got soft hands, great speed, a wicked shot, and he knows how to throw 'em, too (just ask Don Cherry). I got this picture by leaning across the tunnel and aiming toward the players as they came out for practice. After practice I went up to my seat (in the nosebleeds, of course).

You talk about rock solid, Boris Mirinov was just that throughout this series. He has an excellent shot, good offensive smarts, and a physical presence to be reckoned with. Now if that isn't a wicked game face, I don't know what is!
