Kingsway route map
Coincident with the opening of the western extension of the Bloor-Danforth subway from Keele to Islington, the KINGSWAY route name was given to a new zone 2 service provided between Jane Street and Highway 27 via Bloor and Dundas Streets. This service was primarily designed to provide transfer connections with intersecting zone 2 routes at Islington, Royal York, Old Mill and Jane stations. (Even though the zone limit was at Jane Street, the entire subway was within zone 1.) From Jane Station buses ran via Armadale, Bloor, Dunbloor and Dundas to Cloverdale Mall, looping around the traffic island just west of Royden. Service returned east along Dundas, Jopling, Bloor, Kipling, around the southwest cloverleaf at the Six Points interchange, then east on Bloor to Jane Station. Sundays and holiday service terminated at Kipling Avenue (Six Points interchange), looping via Dunbloor, Dundas, Beamish, Bloor, Kipling, southwest cloverleaf and Bloor Street.
