38 GERRARD Route History

April 2nd, 1951

New rush-hours only GERRARD bus route placed in service to feed CARLTON streetcars at Main & Gerrard. From a wye at Victoria Park Avenue via west on Gerrard Street, looping counterclockwise via Main Street, Swanwick Avenue and Kimberly Avenue. One bus in service on a 10:00 minute headway, leaving Main Street from 6:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. and 12:00 noon to 1:50 p.m. Saturdays.

July 1st, 1954

East end terminus revised. The wye at Victoria Park replaced by a clockwise loop via Victoria Park, Swanwick Avenue and Bingham Avenue.

Monday through Saturday, rush hours

May 6th, 1957

New multiple-route transfers in use. 38 GERRARD and 51 MAIN become sub-routes of 62 MORTIMER.

May 10th, 1968

Last day of operation. Service on Victoria Park provided by new 12 KINGSTON ROAD bus the next day.
