Basic Supplies

For Pillar candles you will need:
-135 mp wax or higher, I like 140 because I like my wax to be nice and hard.
-Square braid wicking, I don't use the wicking rules as hard and stedfast rules. I have used metal core and flat braid wicking for my pillars and have had really good results. Don't be afraid to use what you have on hand. Just make sure it is the right size for the diameter of the candle.
-Dye
-scent
-Molds
-candle making thermometer- this is very important! Different mp of wax have different flash points always use a thermometer! Good thermometers have the different temps for different candle types.

For Container candles you will need:
-130 mp wax of lower, I use a single pour wax which has a 129 mp. The softer wax is what you want for container use.
-Wire core wicking. You use this type of wicking because it is slow burning and it stands by itself. I use a zinc core wick.
