The artwork on "This Was Now" Cd is done by Robin Trower himself (I like the artwork). The singlewide double Cd case that I received has a flimsy partition that flips out when the second Cd is accessed. The Cd's bar code number is 88575-00302 but the Record Label (V-12 Records?) has been left off both the Cds and the jewel case artwork.

The first Cd is 45:10 minutes long, and is from a LIVE 1974 Pittsburg, Pennsylvania King Biscuit show. On this tour the band was: Robin Trower - guitar, James Dewar - vocals/bass, and Reg Isidore - drums.

The songs are:

  1. Bridge of Sighs © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974) (vocals not recorded well, opening act for Ten Years After radio show)

  2. Alathea © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from For Earth Below Lp 1975 as Alethea) pre-release performance (misspelling?)

  3. Lady Love © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  4. Daydream © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Twice Removed from Yesterday Lp 1973)

  5. Too Rolling Stoned © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  6. I Can't Wait Much Longer © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Twice Removed from Yesterday Lp 1973)

  7. Day of the Eagle © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  8. A Little Bit of Sympathy © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

The second Cd is 74:24 minutes long, and is from the LIVE May 21/22 1998 Seattle, Washington Ballard Firehouse show(s). This disc sounds very good. Robin seemed to play even better in 98 than 97, and this recording lets you hear how good he can play now. In 1998 the touring band was: Robin Trower - guitar/vocals, Livingstone Brown - bass/vocals, Alvino Bennett - Drums.

The songs are:

  1. Two Rolling Stoned © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  2. Rise Up Like the Sun © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994)

  3. I Want You to Love Me © Secret Door Music (Originally from Someday Blues Cd 1997)

  4. Prisoner of Love © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994)

  5. Secret Place **** This instrumental was a show stopper! © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994)

  6. Promise You the Stars © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994)

  7. Day of the Eagle © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  8. Bridge of Sighs © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  9. 20th Century Blues © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994)

  10. Little Bit of Sympathy © Chrysalis Music Ltd (Originally from Bridge of Sighs Lp 1974)

  11. Crossroads © King of Spades Music (Originally from Someday Blues Cd 1997)

  12. Extermination Blues © Secret Door Music (Originally from 20th Century Blues Cd 1994, redone for Someday Blues Cd 1997)

New: 12-15-98 V-12 Records will be releasing a live 2 CD set.Tentatively titled "This Was Now" with two full shows from 1998 and 1974. The 98 show is from Seattle Washington, May 22, 1998 at the Ballard Firehouse. It is 95 minutes long with 13 songs(apparently they cut something the second cd is only 74:24 minutes long and contains 12 songs. The 74 show is Pittsburg and was recorded by King Biscuit Flower Hour. The vocals are not recorded on the first two songs including Bridge Of Sighs due to technical difficulties(maybe the first song was dropped, only Bridge of Sighs seems to have problems with the vocals). Robin was opening for King Crimson(second act) and Ten Years After(headliner). The notes in the BTO Two-on-ones by Robert Frip from King Crimson tell how he loved to watch Robin play on this tour and that the popularity of the bands at the time was reverse of their playing order.

This Ten Years After concert poster says that Robin Trower was also playing .
