First is that annoying, utterly revolting, drives you so insain that you just want to hurl yourself out a window because of it crud called the Blinking text.

I'm not even going to go into how to make that I hate it!!! Many people tend to get out of a page with any Blinking text quickly since people tend to over do it. I stick around unless there are more then a couple words blinking. Anymore then, say, 5, and I'm out of there as well. Avoid Blinking as much as you can. If you're going to stress a point bold it or underline it. Don't blink it.
Next is the WeIrD cAp EfFeCt. Does anyone else get see sick when looking at that?? I know I do. Please avoid doing that. Also avoid doing the different Height effect of type. you know where the type starts out big then goes to small and back to big? Thats annoying to In my opinon.
Java Script. If you know what this is avoid it as much as possible. There are times when i use it because it comes in handy but please avoid some of them. There's a script that lets a message scroll at the bottom of the status bar. When i first saw that I was like "OH RAD!!!" but after a while of checking my page, seeing that message, over and over and over again... UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the pop up menus some pages have. DON'T USE THOSE! There's really no need to have a menu pop up to tell the user something about the page to where they have to click ok. Honestly there isn't.
Frames. Any more then 3 frames and your page is clutterd. Avoid that if you use those things.
Broken links. CHECK ALL YOUR LINKS! I hate going to a page that has a link I want to go to but it don't work! Be sure to check them!
Another big time no no is auto start anything. That means movies and music especially. Never ever have something auto start upon the pages loading. The simple reason is not only is it annoying its also a little rude. There's people out there browsing from work, or browsing during their down time {kids sleeping, hubby/wifey sleeping etc} and to come onto a page and have music could get them in trouble or wake something up. Plus there are some people that get errors upon auto start things. Movies especially. So please, put all movies, music etc on the setting that lets people choose to listen or not. Personally I sometimes browse from school when my work is done, why I don't get in trouble for doing so it interupts the class to go to a page that has music that automatically starts. And I wont even go into what happens with auto start movies. Yeesh.
Give a choice or just don't do it.
