ROBOCOP vs the TERMINATOR: ROUND TWO

Part ONE**Chapter 3

Christmas morning has come. The Police department is quiet, nobody in the cells -they were shipped off to the state pen before the holiday week. The only signs of life are the phone operator and Murphy himself. He stands watching the phone operator do her job. He left his helmet back in his chambers. Denise -a portly woman, but she tries as much as she can to keep down the pounds-sits back and watches the small 6 inch tv on her desk. Murphy watches the show with her. The show is called "Emit Oter's Christmas" -a golden oldie from Jim Henson.

As the puppet oter plays him washtub bass, Murphy's eyes wander to the door with segmented ease. Stopping from desk to desk to bench to desk. He hears a car approaching down the street. It sounds as if it's speeding up. Murphy walks to the door to double-check. To see if his ears are correct in assuming that a hardworking man's Christmas bonus was spent on some Jim Beam. A drunk driver? Maybe. But he hopes not. That would be bad.

The lights from the station wagon get brighter and brighter, as if the car is coming in this direction. And it is. The station wagon speeds up. Murphy reacts, he yells at Denise to take cover. He deploys his Auto -9 (30 rounds, armor piercing, and deadly) and targets the wind-shield. But he is too late, The station wagon rams the front door and sends Murphy tumbling over three desks. The station wagon breaks squeal. Two figures step out of the car. A woman and a man. Murphy recovers, where is the gun, he thinks. He cannot find his gun. He pushes a desk out of the way and sees his gun. As he grabs it, the man fires at his hand. Sparks shoot from his hand. He reaches for it again. Another shot, more sparks. His hand is still intact. How can this be, he thinks. He looks at the man, and sees a shotgun in his hands, no, not a man, a boy, a teenager. But big enough to be a man.

"Don't bother." The boy says.

Michael Pickett runs down the sidewalk towards the police station. Through the smoke and the rubble of the building, he can see a station wagon. He grabs the shotgun from his jackett and sprints towards it. He's ready, his adrenaline pumping in sync with his heart. He reaches the car, and sees Sarah and John, and the Cyborg they came to destroy, lying on the ground. He pauses to get a look at the situation, the cyborg presumably still reaching for his gun, John covering him, Sarah backing him up.

John aims at the cyborgs head. "You are the cause of it all, freak. You are the missing link to the future's end. The destroyer of humanity. You!!!-"

"STOP!!!" Pickett screams at John.

John and Sarah turn and look at the man. Murphy was just provided with the time to reach for his gun. He grabs it and fires it at John's weapon. Had it been the woman, he would have shot her in the head. But this is a child of 17. A child. The shotgun jerks out of his hands, and drops on the floor. Murphy stands up, and aims on all three.

Michael looks on the situation. "John, Sarah, I'm Michael Pickett. There's really no way to explain it, John sent me to to protect you and the Cyborg here. John also informed me that the cyborg is very tough. And destroying it isn't the only option."

"Well, you better think of a way to convince the cyborg, Micheal!" John says hastily as he looks at Robocop's gun.

There is no warning. None. The terminator dressed in the gas man's coveralls crasses through the wall. It shoots at the humans and misses. Murphy returns fire on the terminator. Leaving only holes in the flesh of the terminator's outer shell. The terminator fires on Robocop, knocking him back.

If the creator seeks to thwart his destiny, he must be subdued, force to merge with Skynet computers. Stage one: Destroy the humans. Stage two: destroy the creator's body. Stage three: merge his brain with Skynet.

The terminator fires on the humans again. The human fire back. Sarah is out of ammo first. She calls out to John, and he throws her a magazine of 50 rounds. She loads the cartridge and fires back on the terminator. The Terminator fires at Sarah and hits her dead in the center of her forehead.

John screams as she falls back like a log. Michael fires his weapon on the terminator. Robocop does to. The terminator is being hit from multiple opponents. It fires on Michael, and he dies, knowing he has failed his mission. Not even a chance.

The terminator fires at John, missing him with everything. Robocop fires his auto-9 at the terminator's eye, smashing it clean out. John runs to Robocop and gets behind him for cover, and fires on the terminator with his shotgun.

Finally the terminator goes down. John reloads his shotgun magazine.

"We haven't got much time, let's get out of here. We're lucky, they only sent cyborg instead of the T-1000 series." He says in a panicy voice.

"What is that thing?"

"A terminator. From the future. I will tell you in due time. But the best move now is to run and hide." John urges him. He pulls on his arm. "Let's go you stupid pile of junk!"

Soon after Robocop and John have left the station, they reach the motel room they were staying in. John walks in and sets his shotgun on the bed. Robocop follows him in the room.

"We should be safe here for some time. Not long, I don't know how much time we've got." John says while going through an old bag with papers in it. Papers that contain instructions on how to make Plasique and a primitive version of the 21st century partical beam. His father, Kyle Reese, brought the information with him -in his head- when he came to protect his mother. The information was no good, well, not until now. Time's have changed, the nessecary components can be found to make the weapon. He finds the papers and gives him to the robot.

"Here, I don't know if you're able to calculate this in your head or not, but take a look at it and tell me if we can find the parts to make this." Robocop takes the papers, not even looking at them, he says "What is going on?"

"Look! There is no time to ask questions. Did you see what happened? Look at the papers and tell me. It is very important!!" John says impatiently.

Robocop looks at the papers and then puts them down. "The components can be found."

John smiles. "Good."

* * *

The terminator had not expected this. An attack from the Conners and the soldier from the future. It should have known. But it didn't. It had taken out the soldier and Sarah Conner with success. But John Conner is still alive. And the Creator is unwilling to face his destiny. It will have to think this over.
