PREVIOUSLY: Peter Parker's P.O.V.: How did J. Jonah Jameson become mayor? Heck if I know, I was out of the dimension for two months with the Fantastic Four. But in that time, he made it happen, and now he's out to get me. Why not, right? So I decided to get him back and go on duty twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Really rub it in his eyes – until I met this new Vulture who spits some sort of acid. He decided to rub that in my eyes. Wonderful.

I took the new Vulture out, but not without accidentally ruining a Yankee game. End result? Ol' Flat Top's back on the top of the polls and everyone outside of the bleachers hates me. Balance restored.

Meanwhile, my civilian life is getting worse by the minute. My roommate Vin Gonzales may be awaiting his court date, but his sister took on the room. And she's not particularly nice. Of course, the first impression wasn't my best – take a look! Speaking of awkward naked situations, Aunt May's in love with Jonah's estrange dad. Groovy!

Ultimately, there's only one thing really wrong is that somehow Norman Osborn's the most powerful man in the world. Defeat one little alien invasion and they hand you the keys to the kingdom?! Come on! Well, I won't stand for it – it's time to take this guy down. And I know just the friends to help.

REVIEW: The story opens at Central Park, where Peter Parker and Harry Osborn are simply hanging out, checking out the scenery...and the girls. For the next few pages, we see Harry working his charm on two beautiful girls happening to walk by. He ultimately ends up getting their phone numbers, which impresses Peter. As the two of them start walking around the park, they discuss Harry's sudden display of happiness, which Peter fears might be drug-induced. Harry reassures Peter that no drugs are involved and that he just tries to live life on life's terms a day at a time, as best he can. Peter is surprised by Harry's optimisms. As the twosome walk by a large pond, an Avengers quinjet flies overhead, causing Harry to drop the two woman's phone numbers in the water. Peter cannot believe how difficult it is to get away from Harry's father, Norman Osborn, the new director of HAMMER. Unfazed, Harry tells Peter not to worry about it.

Later on, during a staff meeting at the offices of the Front Line newspaper, Peter mentions that he has an idea for a story and explains that it's about anything that destroys Norman Osborn. The other staff members all burst out laughing but are immediately cut off by Ben Urich, the "boss", who gives Peter a chance to explain what he has on Osborn. Peter can't really come up with anything concrete, other than the obvious stuff already known about Osborn. Urich is therefore forced to reject Peter's proposition until he can find proof of his allegations. Norah Winters, a colleague of Peter at Front Line, openly flirts with him and tries to find out what he has in mind of doing to find said proof.

A short time later, on a rooftop outside the (Dark) Avengers Tower, Spider-Man meets with Wolverine to discuss breaking into Osborn's headquarters. Wolverine is all for taking down Osborn but reminds Spidey that they tried that before, as members of the Avengers, and even with all their forces combined, they were not able to take him down. Spidey explains that Norman wouldn't be where he is now had he stopped him when he had the chance – in other words, had Spidey killed Norman, none of this would have happened. Wolverine tells Spidey that he needs to figure out if he wants Osborn out of power or want him dead and he needs to be patient and wait for the opportune time. Spidey thanks Wolverine for the talk and prepares to leave. Wolverine stops Spidey and tells him that, when the time comes for Osborn to be taken down and Spidey is in a position to get it done, he needs to end it (i.e. kill Osborn). Spidey agrees...but does he?

Later that night at Gracie Mansion, the home of mayor J. Jonah Jameson, friends and family are gathered for a very special dinner. In attendance are Peter Parker, Harry Osborn, Aunt May and J. Jonah Jameson Sr. and of course, the mayor himself. There are several hilarious scenes between Peter and Jonah Jr., most of them in regard to the recent engagement of Aunt May and Jameson Sr.. While all this takes place, Harry is taking pictures and cracking jokes alongside Peter. Just then, one of Jameson's aides shows up, announcing that their last and final guest has arrived, none other than the one and only Norman Osborn, who raises a glass of wine, toasting to family.

Needless to say, all in attendance are shocked to see him there, except Jameson Jr. who immediately welcomes Osborn with open arms, and directs his father to sit next to the Osborn patriarch. Prompted by Aunt May to say something, Jameson Sr. tells his son that they are going to skip dinner, as his date is not feeling well. Unhappy with his father, Jameson Jr. orders him to sit down, as it's not everyday he gets to hobnob with the most powerful man in the country. Norman interrupts their conversation and tells Jameson Jr. that he understands their plight, seeing as he and Aunt May have some history together and him being there may make her uncomfortable. He adds that not everyone is as forgiving as he is (i.e. Jonah Jr.). Jameson Sr. admits that what Norman said is true but goes on saying that the real reason for their desire to leave is that he – Norman – is a professional thug who hides his lust for power and contempt for common people behind the American flag. Norman wryly responds that he expected that, seeing as he doesn't test well with seniors, especially those who were dishonorably discharged. Before things can get out of hand, Harry steps in and asks his dad why he's there. Norman explains that it was the only way he could see him, as he does not accept his calls and/or his letters. Norman adds that he needs him. Peter interjects, telling Norman to hire a shrink if he heeds help. Norman shrugs off Peter's taunt and proceeds to tell his son that he wants him to come work with him, with the Avengers – he just want to share his success with Harry. Harry stares at him and launches into a fit of laughter. He then turns around and thanks Jonah for inviting him over, as well as apologizing for the theatrics. Furious, Norman tells Harry that he's not done talking to him. Proceeding on to kiss Aunt May and bid goodbye to Peter, Harry tells his father that he heard his offer and would tell him where to stick it, but he won't, because that would be rude to Aunt May. He then takes off, leaving a very angry Norman Osborn.

A while later, Harry returns to his apartment, proud that he did not let his father get to him. Just then, quite unexpectedly, the villain known as Menace, a.k.a. Lily Hollister, shows up. Harry surmises she was sent by his father to either hurt him or kill him, but it turns out to be for an entirely different reason – though we don’t get to see what it is...yet.

Norman Osborn is in limousine, conversing with Hand, his holographic female assistant, when the roof of the car is suddenly ripped open and Norman is dragged off into the air by none other than Spider-Man (Hand calls for backup as this happens). Using the momentum of the flight, Spidey tosses Norman into the rooftop balcony of a nearby building. Before Norman can even retaliate, Spidey punches him again and throws him across the rooftop. He tells Norman that heard about what happened earlier at Gracie Mansion and he's not too happy about it. He's told him before that the family business is closed and out of play. He wants Norman to stay away from Harry...permanently. Bruised and battered, blood pouring out of his mouth and nose, Norman tells Spidey that whatever he may have done in the past, it is nothing to the hell he's just bought for himself. He adds that, as he made Harry, he can do any damn thing to him he wants. Remembering Wolverine's advice to kill Norman if the chance ever presents itself, Spidey hoists Osborn in the air and prepares to deliver the deathblow. Just then, Norman's cell phone rings. In complete defiance, Norman grabs his phone and proceeds to answer it. Needless to say, Spidey is completely taken aback by Osborn's insolence. Norman tells the person at the other end of the line that he's glad to hear it. He then turns back to Spidey and reveals that he's talking to Harry and that he just called to accept his offer. Flabbergasted, Spidey puts Norman down. Talking to Harry, Norman tells him that he's going to see him bright and early the next morning. He then launches into a fit of maniacal laughter. Spidey leaves, destroying a chimney in rage.

Back at his apartment, Harry hangs his phone, having just finishes talking to his father. He turns to Lily and tells her that he's going to protect her, and their son, no matter what it takes. Yes, Lily Hollister is pregnant!

To be continued.
