The Everlasting Life Story of Montiviea.

Montiviea is also called White Raven. She is said to be around even to this day. In spirit only she lives although some believe she is there. Watching over us as she soars above the timber apicals an outcast for her “race” and human notions. An outcast for her reflection.

She was as good and pure as an angel and she looked like one too. She was somewhat of a Goddess or mythical creature of history until the late 16th century. The daughter of the church, an orphan, she lived in harmony with nature. Her hair was long a rich, beautiful auburn color, and she was thought to have the most innocent, sparkling green eyes. Back then there were stories about so called nature fairies, nymphs that dwelled deep in the valleys and show themselves only to the purest of heart. People say they came closest to seeing the creatures when the gazed upon the young that had been left on a church pew. She grew up to be the most beautiful and kindest youth in the town. Despite a town who loved her she became solitary and with people only kind. She had become something of a Dryad, a nature nymph, a true part of the earth, a recluse who lived in nature and loved only natural things. And nature accepted her with open arms. The beautiful birds she love, loved her. She would sit amongst the wild flowers or by the water for hours. People thought the animals really spoke to her and she spoke back. Nothing harmed her even the most dangerous forest creatures maintained a respectful distance, but ever so shy. It was as if nature and wildlife within it saw her as one of their own. She found places in the forest and marshes rarely visited but humans. As time went by she became even more beautiful, seeming to draw on the natural beauty around her. Even deer came right up until her.
He was a good man brought up in an pernicious family that practiced deceitful divination. He had dark skin, of an untold ethnic group, with rich, shinny, ebony hair and coal eyes he became a fearful sight to most respectable citizens. He was an enchanter. He was a tall, charming, soft spoken young man that had any woman child attracted to his dangerousness. All but one. Every mother pleaded and scorned against him. Every father vowed to end him come the time his daughter, la demoiselle, was looked at the way. The one who he could not compel with is charm was the only one that could see through to his very soul and see the good in him. To his dismay his charade of evil only disgusted her and made her think him truly horrid. So he tried to teach her the good natural parts of his life. The worships of nature and the respectful way in which they drew power from the true dryads. And so she befriended him and many became disappointed in her for ‘his’ had been accused of witchcraft. But when she looked at him she saw a good man and that he was, at heart.
His name is unknown but in many stories is thought to be Maucorbeau the ‘Mau’ derived from such French words meaning evil, bad, damned or to curse. In the French language ‘Corbeau’ means raven, the black feathered flyer he was so known for.
She on the other hand was named Colombeté. Also a name derived from the French language. Colombe is the word meaning dove and eté is summer or if in form of pureté it meant purity.

Maucorbeau became a better man being around Colombeté. Her peaceful, and sweet demeanor affected his every being and infatuated him with her. When Colombeté turned about sixteen Maucorbeau proposed to her. Promising her a life of happiness and natural worship. Colombeté was overjoyed at his request and she ran to tell her church family. The father was very disappointed in her but agreed to marry them as long as his dove was happy. Not all of her extended family was appeased and many vowed not to attend the ceremony. Others hope the good in her would change his ways. Colobeté did her best and after an elegant wedding in her favorite meadow site she and Maucorbeau were united. The few quests that had atleast attended her wedding slowly started to drift away. All because he didn’t change and they feared she would. By the time Colombeté became pregnant she had not a friend to her.
So she bore a child and watched the child be affronted from the moment of birth. Fearing the worst from the people she once considered her family she and her husband retreated farther from civilization into the forest. Both now true orphans, his family rejecting her purity and goodness, they lived happily amongst the wilds.
The child was named Montiviea, (Mon-tay-vi-ea). The name a concoction of Colombeté’s imagination eventually became known as meaning ‘immoral purity’. After her transformation they called her White Raven.

Colombeté inevitably became fatally ill. One day while on her death bed Maucorbeau went to her. He told her of way that she could live without pain and still stay in the world she loved. He told her he could transform her into a creature of her character. Maucorbeau explained that he would have no choice in what animal she became for it was up to the gods but she would live with immortality. Being in great pain she decided that she would take the chance in hope to be with him for all time. Maucorbeau pleaded with his gods and they transformed Colombeté into a creature that they thought would readjust to her. Colombeté became the creature the named her for, the purest white dove with grace and charisma. And she was happy until she realized this separated her from Maucorbeau and Montiviea.
Maucorbeau raised Montiviea to an age of maturity. Then went to her and told her a plan of deceit to his gods. She was upset for he would lie to who they had pledged their souls and for the outcome.
Montiviea did all she could to help her father become sick along with casting a vengeance spell on him. He became weaker and weaker and then Montiviea went to the back to make a sacrifice. She told her gods of her fathers ailing. They granted her wish and she rushed back to him. The most beautiful white dove sat o his shoulder and it didn’t fright at the sign of 16 year old Montiviea rushing into the room. She knelt by her fathers bed and from underneath she retrieved her black book and a pile of flowers, herbs and animal disseverments. She mixed them together and chanted a soft spell. It was an attachment spell. Her and her father became a synthesis just as the gods hit him with their spell. So as Maucorbeau was being transformed into a Raven he was being “combined” with his child. Instead of being transformed herself as she wished, Montiviea went through a painful body experience. Instead of being released from her body and into her creature of character she was being transformed in whole. The consequence was Montiviea being able to switch from bird to woman. Eventually she learned to control when she converted over and when in lethal danger was able to escape her enemies by turning into the famed White Raven to which she belonged.
Montiviea is said to have hair the is the darkest black but looks as if blood were poured over it. With blood black hair and black eyes, her milky white complexion makes for an astounding beauty.
The rest of her story goes as follows. About twenty-five years after her first transmutation into the White Raven she took on human form in a small European town in Italy. There in that town she fell in love with a young man that was loved by all as her mother had been. He fell in love with her as well, not knowing who or what she was. She stayed as she was in human form and called herself Colombeté in the memory of her mother. In young man, who’s name is unknown (we’ll call him Cory) Montiviea saw a mystical power and goodness that reminded her of her mother. Still looking about sixteen Montiviea and “Cory” made plans of marriage. One day “Cory” went to Montiviea but before speaking to her saw her praying to her gods for peace and happiness as a normal mortal human. She new this would be difficult for she didn’t age and she wasn’t a normal mortal human. She had mystical powers she couldn’t deny. Finally, she just prayed for “Cory’s” understanding but as she took a dove and raven from the other room and held them up “Cory” thought that the ‘Colombeté that he knew was about to make a sacrifice, and he gasped exposing himself. Montiviea turned around and tried to explain herself but “Cory” ran from her. She was locked into a cage or cell of sorts barely big enough for her. One day “Cory” went to her for he felt remorseful but found her not there. He sat down outside her cell and pleaded with the air for forgiveness. Suddenly, through his tears he saw a beautiful white bird on a perch in the top corner. And even more suddenly she materialized into Montivea’s beautiful human self. Surprised but not afraid he continued telling her how sorry he was. When no one was around he snuck back to her side and released her. They ran of together and married. He ignored her powers and they lived happily until one day “Cory” met a true woman and fell in love with her. Montiviea left him so he could be happy and continued roaming the earth via air. She only used her powers for good and in her defense as her mother had installed in her good morals and to honor her astranged husband.
When a holy preistess came upon Montiviea she decieded something had to be done. She threw a holy stone of the church at the gracious bird, hopping to kill her but promised with the transmutation was the gift of immortality. ( Only in the transitioned form ) The gods wishing to punish her struck the stone to her hand as she tried to cast a conter spell. All her natural power left her body and fled to the amethest colored rock. As Montiviea transformed back to her human figure the gods cried out explaining to her that her power was gone as with her immortality. Her sixteen year old body would now age with each passing moment and wither with each passing year. The gods had underestimated her intelligence. As soon as they disapeared Montiviea retreieved the stone and ran off to her home in the woods. There in her cabin she unearthed the appropriet means to create a nature derived spell. Onto the rock she placed a spell of liberation making her powers available to her but only through the stone.
There are two stories in her history. One tells that somewhere in history she was able to release her transformation powers from the stone before someone stole it. Leaving her with only spells of nature and transfiguration. The second story tells that the theif first trapped Montiviea in her stone. How is unknown.
The stone is of misty amethest in color and after the stone was theived it was cut into necklaces to steal it’s power. As for the face of the theif it was thought stolen by a great descendant of “Cory”. The Great daughter, we’ll call her “Corrina”, swore revenge for stealing the innocence and exposing her Great father to all her evil. The vengence took over the poor girl’s life and she vowed to not rest until her Great father was honored. It’s told that once she felt the power of Montiviea’s magic she stole it and created her necklace. “Corrina’s” greed was passed down geneticly and her second daughter stole the stone from the rightful heir, the kinder matron and first born. A hate had formed between the second daughter and “Corrina” so, just to spite her mother the Second born sold the stones in necklaces just like her mother’s.
The necklaces are cut in the shape of diamond head prisim with a silver bracing in royal grace. Set in the silver is a small ruby stone representing Montiviea’s birth. The actual stone was only about three inches in diameter and circular shaped. There are merely 500 necklaces of the stone spread across the world.

No one knows if Montiviea is alive but beware she was at one point a very dangerous dame. If you, one day, look to the sky and see a white raven, a creature unknown to the scientific man, watch out. She might just become protective.
As a bird she has a pure white body except for the tops of her feet being black. Her eyes blood black, when in feathered form, with white feet and claw bottoms. She also had an uncharacteristic black tongue. As a human she still looks very young and still looks as described above. It is known she was once cursed as to never be able to chnage her apearance. The gypsy man who cursed so couldn’t kill her himself but wanted anyone who saw her to know just who and what she was thought to be.
