BOOKS BY NICK CAVE

And the Ass Saw the Angel, HarperPaperBacks, 1989. Nick's only novel to date. It's wicked, twisted and touching. It's Faulkner meets Carver: it's real, it's harsh, it's bleak, it's greatly written.

King Ink, Black Spring Press Limited, 1988. Includes lyrics from THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, the DIE HAUT album and THE BAD SEEDS. It also has some one-act plays.

King Ink II, Black Spring Press Limited, 1997. Includes lyrics from Tender Prey, The Good Son, Henry's Dream, Let Love In, Murder Ballads and The Boatman's Call. Also included is "The Flesh Made Word" that Nick wrote for the BBC.

BOOKS ON NICK CAVE

Nick Cave by Andrea Cangioli and Maria Alessandra Scalise, Stampa Alternativa, 1995. This half-italian/half-english book is not only entertaining, it tells about Nick's beginnings and Nick's future projects. It has anecdotes and interviews and it comes with a CD featuring four unreleased (and very original!) tracks.

Nick Cave: The Birthday Party and Other Epic Adventures by Robert Brokenmouth, Omnibus Press, 1996. As the title indicates, this book mainly deals with THE BIRTHDAY PARTY. I didn't find it very interesting, in fact it had some dead spots. But buy the book for the pictures!

Bad Seed by Ian Johnston, Little Brown Books, 1995. This book tells everything you ever want to know about Nick. If you have to read one book, this is the one! It is now available on paper back.

The Life And Music Of Nick Cave - An Illustrated Biography by Maximilian Dax and Johannes Beck. Great book with lots of really nice never before seen pictures!
