Damn Yankees Story

The show opens in Washington D.C., 1955 with Joe Boyd damning the Yankees baseball team after they beat the local team of the Washingotn Senators. After getting very angry at the Yankees on T.V., Joe tells his wife Meg that he would sell his soul to get one good hitter for the Senators. Joe goes out onto the porch and repeats his statment "I'd sell my soul for one long ball hitter!!" Then in a puff of smoke appears Mr. Applegate,
who makes a deal with Joe-- He will let him be thirty years younger and a champion baseball player for the Senators.
But at the end of the season, he belongs to the devil. Joe manages to convince Mr. Applegate to include an escape clause in their contract--- On the last night of the season, Joe can still pull out of the deal. He is suddenly changed into Joe Hardy.
He leaves with Applegate without his wife seeing him or knowing what has happened. Meanwhile, the Senators have lost every game of the season so far. Joe joins the team and immediately takes them into first place. But Joe begins to miss Meg. Realizing that Joe will pull out of the deal to go back to Meg, Mr.Applegate calls his temptress from hell, Lola. While trying to make Joe forget about Meg Lola tries to seduce him and tells him "Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets!" But she does not succeed. Joe goes back to his old house and asks if there is a room he can rent out. Meg rents a room to Joe and Mr. Applegate arrives there telling him not to stay. Joe dosen't listen. Back at his apartment under the Senate building in Washingotn D.C. Applegate reminisces about the Good Old Days. He has banished Lola to Limbo and does the same to Joe. Lola helps Joe escape so he can play the finla game of the season. Lola then tries to distract Applegate by telling him they are Two Lost Souls. Applegate and Lola arrive at the game late and Applegate taunts Joe by making the ball fly past him or making his bat exploding. At the last minute, just before Joe belongs to the devil, he yells out "Let me go!!" breaking the deal. He is transformed into Joe Boyd and hits the last pitch, winning the game for the Senators. He runs out of the stadium and goes back to Meg who is shocked to see him.Joe asks her to promise never to ask where he has been. Applegate and Lola show up and Applegate tries to get Joe back but Joe just embraces Meg.
