Gracie's Journey

Nov 11, 2005 What a heart warming thing it is when your daughter calls you by name. She has been saying it for a couple of months now, but only while in a fit of rage. Now I am looking at her sweet face and hearing her call me by name. I can't describe how wonderful that is.

Grace Ellyn is now 10 months old. She is a hoot! She can crawl now! It was the day UGA played Ark. She was in her bulldog onsie and I guess she wanted to get a closer look and she crawled to the television! Nov 2 was the day she took off. She crawled to me! The was such a precious moment. She slowly creeped toward me and the crawled into my arms. I just held her and told her how much I loved her. She is amazing. She can say "ball" now and she calls people by name. I am pretty much the only one she doesn't really have a name for yet. We had a great halloween! We went to see Julie and Lenley. They were dressed a kitty cats and Gracie was a strawberry. It was ADORABLE! The previous weekend she went to see her daddy, M, and Coot. She had a great time. We are in Athens right now preparing for her weekend with Auntie Kim. She even bought Grace a special outfit for the occasion. I know they are going to have a great time.

September 19, 2005 WOW! Grace is nine months old today! I can't believe it. Today we have just hung out at the house and played. She is so funny. She loves to lay on her side and prop her head up with her hand. She is also a ham! She already knows how to pose for the camera. It is hilarious. She smiles everytime you bring it out. Tomorrow we go to the doctor for out 9 month check up. I am nervous. I hate it when she gets shots. I will let everyone know how it goes. Until then...

Sept 13, Gracie started her first music class today. Her babysitter, Christy, took her. I was so excited, but I was so sad that I couldn't be there for her first day. Christy said she did great! The sang the name song and played peek-a-boo and listened to music. Gracie loves music. She taps her feet to the beat. Another funny thing about her is that she could be hapf monkey. She loves to pick things up with her feet. Sometimes she just lays on her back and plays with a toy with her feet.

Sept 12, 2004 Christopher got a job in Duluth so, Gracie are going to spend some time on the road this fall. She has been talking since she was about 6 months, but when she saw Chris she said Da da clear as day. She can say Dada, mama, baba, gwadada(grandaddy), Hey and something sort of like bye . The only time she says mama is when she is upset. *sigh* I take it any way I can get it . :)

Gracie is everywhere now. I am so proud of her. She rolls and scoots everywhere..down the hall, across the room and everywhere else. She is so funny. Two weeks ago she started to pull up on her toy box. She can reach up into the box and pull her toys out. She still hates her walker, but she is warming up to her excersaucer. She is more interest in boxes and things she isn't supposed to play with.

September 3 This past weekend Gracie learned how to sit up. She was with Grandmama and she was laying down and all of the sudden she sat up! She is growing up so fast.

Grace Ellyn is almost nine months old It is Sept 1, 2005. So much has happened in the past two months. Grace started to wave! We went to Mori's for Erin's 23rd and we were walking and she was waving to everyone. I was laughing so hard. Her daddy did a great job teaching her to wave.

July 19, 2005 Grace is 7 months old! I can't believe it! It seems like yesterday that I held her for the first time.

June 29, 2005 Gracie has her first trip to the beach! We went to Destin with Daddy,M and Coot. We had so much fun. To see picture go to www.snapfish.com username kris_glo@hotmail.com password fairyluv.

May 25,2005 Grace had been trying to figure out how to roll from her tummy to her back. SHe sort of did it a couple of times, but she could never quite get the hang of it. She spent the night with Antie Kim and Unkie Steve and I get a phone call..SHE DID IT! We taught her how to roll from her tummy to her back! They said she was ALL over the place. I laughed and couldn't wait to see it. The next day when I came to pick her up, she was under the coffee table in 1.2 seconds. I cracked up. It was so neat to see her move like that. She was growing up so fast. I was so proud. And I was so glad that Kim and Stve could be there for that milestone.

April 20. 2005 Rice Cereal time! I can't believe that Grandmama actually held out this long. It was a daily struggle from the time she was 2 weeks old until she was four months old. Chris and I gave it to her for the first time, but apparently we didn't have the right touch, but when Grandmama gave it to her. She gobbled it up. I must have taken 100's of pictures.

April 7, 2005 She rolled over, for real this time! She was in her crib and I went to take a shower. I am not in there long when I hear her crying like seomthing terrible has happened! She did it! She rolled over! Poor thing couldn't quite figure out what to do with her arms, that is why she was crying. Her arms were stuck under her neck. I was so happy I cried! I couldn't find a camera so I ust picked her up and held her close and told her how proud I was of her. She finally did it.

December31-Jan 1 Happy New Year Doodle Bug! We went to Steak-n-Shake with Grandmama and went to visit Julie and Lenley. We got to Daddy's work just in time to ring in the New Year at the Hampton Inn in Lake Park. We spent the next night at the Wakulla River. Gracie's first night away from home.

December 25, 2004 Gracie's first Christmas! She slept most of the day, but she got so many wonderful presents. Auntie Kim had the cutest little outfit for her.

December 19, 2004 Today was the most incredible day of my life. I finally met the love of my life, my daughter , Grace. It was so neat! She weighed 7.8 lbs and was a perfect 20 inches long. She was wonderful. I held her in my arms and introduced myself and cried like I have never cried before. The world went away and it was just the two of us. I was filled with a combination of exhaustion, fear, excitement and complete joy. Nothing could have prepared me for that moment. Her daddy was so cute. He got dressed up so he would look nice the first day he met his daughter. Everyone was wonderful. I only yelled at one person, my mom. Whoops. Sorry mom. Kim, Chris and mom were in the delivery room. I went into labor Saturday at 8:00p.m. and Grace got here at 4:18 the next day.

"Grace in God's word means "undeserved favor" and that is exactly what this baby is. Undeserved blessing for this family. Her mother is one of the most courageous women I have ever known. I am very proud of her." -- Grandmother Lynn.

It is amazing how we take for granted the small things in life, and then a small thing comes along and makes a big difference.
