My favorites
My all time favorite sea animal would have to be the killer whale or orca. They are beautiful black and
white creatures of the ocean who gilde through the waters with such ease and grace. They are mammels who
of course birth and nurse their young. They also have very special habits that amaze me. They have only one
mate for life. They also have family units that they stay with their whole lives called j-pods.
My second favorite would definetly be the energetic playful dolphin. There are numerous species of dolphins.
Bottled-nose dolphines and spiner dolphins are my favorite. Bottled-nose dolphins are what you would usually see
on a movie. Spiner dolphins are darker in color and when they breech out of the water they spin in circles through
the air. Some also don't realize that dolphins are whales. They are definetly one of the smaller types. They have alot
of the same family traits that the killer whales do.
Another favorite would have to be the narwhale. These strange animals have a horn growing from their head. They are very
rare and live mostly in polar regions. Myths about these whales arose when sailors would tell about "sea unicorns." They were
hunted for their tusks, and almost completely demolished. They are protected now; however, they are still scarce.
