  • Examine the relationship between the physical, social, emotional and spiritual components of health.

 

 

  • Analyse media advertising of food and compare it to dietary guidelines.

  • Investigate factors influencing food choice eg culture and customs, gender, media.

 

  • Brainstorm categories of well-being and group them on the board.

  • Provide handout of factor affecting health. Have students choose their most important three and write and report on their factors.

  • Student’s partner up and list advantages of an active lifestyle. They then choose a category to which their card fits and explain why.

  • Literacy exercise.

  • Class debate.

  • Note taking followed up by brainstorming.

  • Learning in groups and then divided into different groups for peer teaching.

  • Information highway (Internet).

  • Video and class discussion.

  • Cooking class, exploring a different culture.
