This is the cutest face ever! She is such a sweet,
loving little dog. I am so happy to have her. She makes me smile just by
walking into the room.
I had always wanted a Beagle but we didn't find one when
we first moved down here. I wanted to rescue a pound puppy and that is
how we met Fred. (but that's another story for another page.....)
I loved Fred bunches, but my desire to have a second dog
finally took over and I started the campaign to win Mike over to the
second dog idea. He finally relented and the search began.
I contacted lots of very nice Beagle breeders, but none
of them had any girls available. I found Mr. Sasnett online and
emailed his daughter. They didn't have any puppies at that time, but a
litter was due very soon. When we returned from our vacation, I had an
email from Becky saying that puppies had arrived and they had some
girls!
We drove down there when the puppies were only 2 weeks
old to put down a deposit. They were so cute and little, it was hard to
decide.
We picked Phoebe up when she was 6 weeks old and she's
been a ton of fun ever since. She instantly fell in love with Fred, but
I'm afraid the feelings were not returned. He tolerated her and stayed
close to us as much as possible.
Here's Phoebe when she was around six months old.....

Here is Phoebe on July 15th, when she is 11 1/2 months
old. She is such a happy little girl. If you would like to see her
birthday pix, click here. She
turned 1 on August 3rd!

Here is Phoebe during one of our training
sessions where she is learning to stay on her place. She looks up and
smiles at me when we are doing this exercise as if I'm a giant piece of
Pupperoni! But at least she seems to enjoy her training sessions.
When we all went to WV for Ryan's wedding, my mom
took me and her friend Janni (hope I spelled that right) to a dog show.
Mom took Lily, Janni took Woody (a pom), and I decided to take Phoebe. I
am so glad that I did. I was so happy with how well she did in public.
She sat in the heel position, didn't pull her leash, and never barked
the first time. She was excellent. I finally feel like training is
getting us somewhere! :)
