Shop Before You Pop

So it's about quarter to seven...I (Olivia) am standing on my front porch with my coffee mug trying to shake the sleep. Becca's cab pulls up, the driver gets out...AND HE'S WEARING A BOFF SHIRT! I giggled...THAT got my attention. Becca stood up out of the back of the cab and leaned her elbows on the roof and said, "I ALMOST went back home!"

I laughed and proceeded to do my trademark. "Aw." I'm sure Becca was *shocked* to see me wearing an ORANGE shirt and BLUE jeans. lol  Anyhow, she carried her things into the house and set them down. No sooner had she done so when I suggested we go out to eat. Boy was she thrilled when I made her tug her bags out to my car, but I had JUST rolled out of bed, and I was hungry! So off we went to the IHOP.

Beck related some of the (mis)adventures she had had on her trip as she gobbled her chicken fingers (which they didn't give her enough ranch dressing for) and I poked at my waffles. We talked about site issues as well, and sat there giggling over Nsync and our inside jokes, provoking stares from those around us. Heh! lol

Then we went back out to the car and Becca announced that it was present time! First thing that crossed my mind was, "Uh-oh. Should I be afraid?" So I pop (heh, I said "pop"!) open the trunk and she fishes through her bag...and hands me the Nsync pop rocks she had carried cross country JUST for me! I looked at her in disbelief. "They have POP ROCKS?!" lol...we missed those in our merchandise article.

But present time wasn't over...I had a copy of the Nsync Uno game waiting for her. She was like, "YAY!" Well, more like, "YAY BUDDY!®" And with that sentiment it was off to other places...like...Target! I had to go pick up my paycheck because JC and Justin needed clothes (we'll explain in detail in a bit) and Becca said she saw this really cool Angel shirt. We looked, and her shirt wasn't there *sob* but there were some clothes at least for Justin and JC. JC got a tux. :) But Josh really wanted his karate gear, so we decided to check the mall for his Bonzai Buddy outfit.

We needed to kill some time anyway, so I drove us to the mall. Beck did her Cher impression for me in the car. Being that I am a mallrat, I knew that the best place to park at Oakland Mall is in the back of JCPenny. Which is when Beck began bouncing up and down and yelling "It says JC! Look! It says JC!" as she points to the sign. I prayed that I didn't crash the car, I was laughing so hard.

Once inside, the first store we hit was Spencer's...because, ya know, they have a TON of Nsync merchandise to scope out. I almost beat her up though because she wanted the light up BSB hat. "THIS is fashion, baby...PURE fasion..."  *shakes head*  Anyways, after spending some time in there, we walked out with Nsync lunchboxes. In addition, I got Becca the lip gloss, which provoked additional discussion to what we had said about the lipgloss before.

"WHAT THE HELL IS A BLUE RASPBERRY?!" Beck was a bit disappointed. She said Justin's lip gloss is the only one that doesn't taste good. I'm quite partial to JC's and Chris'...though you'd think Chris would have an exciting flavor...like Passion Fruit-kiwi-lemon-lime-strawberry-mango...or philly steak *N cheese...or grilled halibut!

But I'm getting off topic here! lol Happy with our Nsync purchase, we march over to Express because I need black pants to match my bling-bling top for the concert. Plus, I had a coupon! Yay! I'm a smart shopper! While I browsed around, Beck ran across the hall to Lane Bryant to look around. When she came back to check on me, I had narrowed my choices down to two pairs. Just as I was getting a fitting room, my cell phone rings. It's our dear friend Sheri. *waves to Sheri*

The pants I eventually picked out were the last pair, in my size, AND on clearance...and I had a coupon. SCORE! =D Then Beck dragged me over to see the shirt she wanted, as well as commandeered my cell phone to talk to Sheri...lol. The top she showed me was really cute; it said STAR! I shell out some cash for her shirt, then we head over to Olga's Kitchen because I am craving for an orange cream cooler. But damnit, their machine was BUSTED! Grrrr...

So instead we went on over to Kay Bee toys...YAY BUDDY!® lol On the way there, we ran into my friend Dale. *waves at Dale, wonders if Dale has seen the site, waves again* Becca found Buddy [my stringless JC marrionette] a military uniform! Not exactly BONZAI...more like RAMBO Buddy...but hell, it worked!

By this point, I think it's time for me to cash my paycheck so I have money. So we head back to the car...only to get there and find that I DON'T HAVE MY KEYS! Beck goes, "Did you leave them in the dressing room?" DUH! Being that I end up absent-minded when I'm really enthusiastic about something, I RUN back to Express to get them. Meanwhile she sat down on a bench inside JCPenney's and looked at her Nsync lunch box.

So now that i have my keys we proceed to the bank where I cash my check and withdraw some extra money. And yes, I DO dot my I's with stars, even on my checks. Then we head on to Verizon Wireless because I want my promo poster, damnit! lol When we got there, we were actually more interested in the display though. Beck told me she'd hold open the door so that I could run away with it. This display is about as tall as me (I'm only 5'2") so here's a visual for you, lmao...can't you just see this display running down the sidewalk?

We went next door to Farmer Jack (a grocery store) for something to drink...because you know, Detroit that weekend was experiencing an unusual heat wave, and then onward to Toys R Us! WHOOOOOO! Can you imagine the fun two crazed twenty-something Nsync fans had in that store? *falls over laughing* Becca tired to pick a fight with Barbie and her friends. I nearly busted a Teresa box cuz she looked TOO much like Bobbie. Grrr... We bought Justin this really awesome street ensemble and realized that there is a Barbie named after Becca. She's Special Olympics Becky, the friend of Barbie that's in a wheelchair...aw.

Then we went and played in the board games aisle. You won't believe some of the board games that exsist. One in particular grabbed our attention: WHACK A MOLE! *winks at Brittany* roflmfao...just seeing that box was all it took. Sides aching from too much laughter, my friend Karen cashes us out of Toys R Us, and I decide that its time to stop in at my house so I can get my stuff. Stupid me, I didn't have ANYTHING packed for the weekend. Beck is all curious about our hotel, wondering where it is and whatnot, but I still wouldn't divulge much info! lol

And while I was in the midst of my packing, my gals Jaclyn and Dena stopped by. Becca proudly showed them her Meet N Greet pics and showcased her vocal talent for them! They thought she was good! :) I finally look at my watch and realize that it's 3:30 and we need to get downtown to our hotel.

I got hit on at the gas station:
Guy: Adorable one, huh?
Olivia: Um, yeah...
Guy: Can I get your number?
Olivia: Ummm...well, I don't think her brother would like that [points at Becca]
Guy: Her brother?
Olivia: Yeah, I date her brother!
Becca: Yeah, she dates my brother!
Olivia: Buddy certainly wouldn't like that...
Becca: [shakes head] Nope!

The look on his face was priceless. lol...and I must stress that when I get caught up in something exciting, my brain stops functioning. We drove three miles from my house and I realized I forgot my camera. DOH! So I had to drive us back to get it.

So I'm fighting rush hour traffic and construction, and Becca is working on the whole "No Strings Attached" concept with our action figures. She dressed JC in his Bonzai Buddy gear and waved his arms around. Once again, I found myself praying that I didn't crash the car. Buddy sat in my lap, and she proceeded to dress Justin in his Ghetto Fabulous outfit.

We happily have Nsync karaoke in the car with Buddy and Fabulous and arrived at the hotel. Now, I've only been to the hotel on field trips, so it's not like I knew exactly where to go...so we had to stop and ask which side of the building we had to go through. I check us in...paying up front. We were pressed for time, (we had to meet Lucky in front of the park at 6pm. It was 4:45) so we park in the garage and haul only our essentials to room 3417.

I remember the look on her face when we got to the room. "Whoa...LIV! My WHOLE wardrobe doesn't cost this much!" But I told her not to worry about it...we were gonna see our boys...two nights in a row! WHOOOO!

Hurriedly, each of us took a shower and we got all decked out for "casual night." I got all cutesy in my blue bling-bling Fumanskeeto tank top and jeans. Beck wore her new "star" shirt, jeans and a black bandana and at 5:45 we were FINALLY on our way to the venue...only to be stuck in the traffic of course. I mean, people are trying to find parking, right? At six, my cell phone rings and Lucky is like, "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" and instructed us to park in this dirt lot, and so we did. (Hey...it was free! lol) Becca and I walked a couple of blocks and FINALLY met up with Lux and Carla in front of the Fox Theatre so I could give them their tickets.
