"The Danger of Loving You"
Chapter Two
By: Mandy

"This is so exciting." Tricia exclaimed as the girls waited for the guys to come out their dressing rooms. It was their final concert before their one-month break. She could already hear the crowd calling for the boys.

"I know what you mean." Vicky admitted. She could practically feel the energy racing through the building. "This crowd in New York is alive!"

The door opened and AJ jumped out in his outfit for Larger Than Life. He was singing the Thong Song on the top of his lungs.

"What are you doing?" Sam asked, between her fits of giggles.

"I am warming up!" AJ cried. "LET ME SEE YOU THONG!" He looked at Vicky. "You don't happen to have a thong do you?"

"I might." Vicky winked.

"Damn!" AJ cried.

The rest of the boys came out of the dressing room. "Group huddle." Someone yelled.

Everyone linked arms and got into a circle.

"Last show before we break!" Kevin announced.

"YES!" The rest cried.,BR>
"Let's give it our all!" Howie added.

"Damn straight!" Miranda cried.

"We party afterwards!" Brian reminded everyone.

Everyone cheered.

"Ready?" Kevin asked. "One, two, three, BACKSTREET!"

Everyone echoed his call. The Boys left to get in their places.

"I got a great idea!" Sam said. "We can watch from the side of the stage instead of the monitor."

"That's a good idea." Tricia agreed. "The audience can't see us and we won't be in anyone's way."

"And we'll have the perfect view of the boys." Miranda said as all the girls practically scrambled to the side of the stage.

They weren't on stage yet but the band was just beginning to take their place. There must have been at least twenty thousand screaming fans chanting, "BACKSTREET BOYS, BACKSTREET BOYS…"

Finally the Backstreet Boys came out onto the stage and started singing Larger Than Life. The screaming got louder, until it was almost deafening.

"This is amazing." Vicky said to Sam.

"HUH?" Sam cried.

"I SAID THIS IS AMAZING!" She repeated with a laugh.

The song ended.

"Now we would like to do something from the new album…"

The Boys were in the middle of singing That's The Way I Like It when Sam got a wicked idea in her head. She glanced at Vicky whose eyes were glued to AJ. He was the closest member of the group to the girls. She leaned over.

"Vicky, I dare you to flash AJ!"

Tricia overheard. "Come on! The way AJ is he would probably fall off the stage!"

Sam laughed. "You think?"

Tricia laughed. "Do it Vicky!"

Vicky hesitated for a second. "What the heck!" She waited until AJ was the only member looking her way and pulled up her top. His eyes grew wide and he stumbled. "You see that? He missed a step!"

"You bedazzled him!" Miranda laughed.

The girls nearly collapsed in laughter. The group then announced they were taking a short break. Instead of walking off the stage with the rest of the boys, AJ walked in the girl's direction. "What was that?"

"Well what did it look like?" Tricia asked, as she started to calm down.

"It was Sam's idea!" Vicky tried to look innocent. "I swear!"

AJ grinned. "Thanks Sam!" He leaned over and gave Vicky a very passionate kiss.

"Glad to help." Sam said as she skipped off to find Kevin. The rest of the girls soon followed suit.

"Girl, you are a tease." AJ said.

"I try." Vicky glanced back at the crowd. "You guys are rocking the house. The crowd is eating you up."

"I agree." AJ pulled her closer. "They are really energetic tonight."

"Let's go meet up with the rest of them before they start to make assumptions on what we are doing!" Vicky pulled AJ off the stage.

****
She was grinning from ear to ear. She was sure that AJ had noticed her. And what was more perfect was that there was no sign of Vicky.

AJ had been perfect tonight. There was that short instance that he stumbled but that could be easily forgiven. He had to know how she felt and she was sure that he would feel the same way. She glanced down at the Backstage pass hanging around her neck.

Tonight she would tell him…

****
Tricia leaned against Brian. According to the stage manager they still had two minutes before the boys would go back out on the stage.

"I miss the house." Tricia said. She knew that by the day after tomorrow they would be back in by themselves setting up their new life but she wished it were now. She understood Brian's commitment to the fans, though.

"I miss the hot tub." Brian said, softly, so know one around them would hear.

Tricia blushed and smiled.

Sam was leaning against Kevin and she caught what Brian had said. "GROSS! You two had sex in the hot tub! I was lounging around in that the other day!"

Brian blushed.

"Get over it Sam." Vicky joked as she and AJ came in. "They probably did it in every room."

Brian started to get uncomfortable. "Does anyone else think that it is time to get back on the stage?" He asked.

****
The concert was almost over. The Boys were getting the crowd to sing. Then Brian pulled a mother and her daughter up on the stage and sang the Perfect Fan.

Kevin stepped forward. "As you all know we are taking a short break to write some more songs and have a little time for our personal lives. Thank you all so very much for you continued support."

The crowd cheered.

"And we will back soon." Brian added. "We didn't tell them we were going to do this, but I think they like surprises."

"Who is talking about?" Tricia asked.

"I don't know!" Sam said.

"We want to ask some very special people to come out and help us sing this last song." Nick looked offstage. "So, Miranda, Vicky, Sam, and Tricia would you come out here please."

"Hell no." Sam cried. "I got stage fright something wicked."

"Get out there." Tricia shoved her onstage. She walked over and took Brian's hand. "Hey you."

"Hey you." Brian echoed.

Vicky approached AJ. He was leaning over to touch fans' hands. When he saw her he stood up. "Ready for this?"

"We'll find out whether I can sing or not." Vicky laughed.

"We're gonna sing The One." Howie said. "All together." He looked at the couples and wished that Julia was here.

"I don't know about this." Sam said through clenched teeth as she squeezed Kevin's hand.

"Ready!" AJ signaled the band.

I guess you were lost…

****
She threw her backstage pass into the rows behind her. She heard someone shout that they just found their key to meeting the boys. She was too disgusted. Everything about that night was going so perfect until she saw Vicky. Of course, she thought. Vicky couldn't detach herself from AJ long enough for him to see that there was someone else out there for him. She was so close to AJ. He was reaching out for her hand when Vicky appeared. He pulled away before their hands could connect.

"Vicky is going to be a problem." She muttered to herself as she looked for an exit. "One I will have to be rid of."

****
"We're on a break!" Nick shouted as he spun Miranda around. "BREAK!"

Vicky looked at her watch. She had to catch the early flight back to Florida the next morning for work. She glanced at AJ. "I think I should head back to the hotel room."

"But the party is just getting started." AJ whined.

"The party has been going on for three hours now." Vicky laughed. "I got to go the airport tomorrow morning."

"I'll come back to the hotel room with you." AJ decided. He told the others of the plan and then took Vicky's hand. They headed out of the club and towards the hotel. "I hate that you have to work tomorrow night. I won't get to see you until I fly back to Florida the next day."

"You can always call me." Vicky suggested.

"Expect it…" The couple strolled down the sidewalk, not knowing the danger that was coming soon.
