July 2002 Edition of Diablo Magazine

The July issue of Diablo magazine included letters from readers about various articles from the June issue. Two letters went to print about the Townsend article, my own and Joy Tamaki (of the Official Townsend Club). Below is the article itself, and below that I typed the letters out so they're easier to read.

Fan Fest

I have been a long-time supporter of Townsend ("Pop Secrets," June 2002). I first met the guys back when the worked for Wild 94.9 two years ago and have been supporting them since. I even indirectly connected Matt Yoakum with the band. I also run a fan site called Townsend Love at townsendlove.cjb.net. At 17, I guess I fall out of the demographic slightly, but I love all the guys of Townsend like big brothers. Thank you for giving them the recognition they deserve!

Another Fan

I thought you made a great decision to feature Townsend in the pages of your June issue. I hope people in the East Bay are able to read the article and become fans. Jon Steinberg did an excellent job in writing the feature. I found the article to be well written and quite amusing. Over the past year I've known Townsend, I find it interesting to see what other people outside of their fanbase have to say.
