It was a week after the incident and things were not quite normal. They went out and stuff but now there was a slight tension between them. Also, Annette was having that dream more and more. One bright Saturday morning she woke up after her dream. Slowly, she got out of bed and downstairs to get her sketchbook. Only it wasn’t there. Trying not to panic, she looked between the couch cushions. Nope. Now frantic, she began searching the house. She looked all day and by the time it was 2pm she was going out of her mind. Annette knew that at 2:30, Nick would come to take her to the carnival. Annette decided to look for her sketchbook when she came back. When Nick came, Annette composed herself and they left.
She tried to keep her mind on having fun but she couldn’t. The whole time questions ran wildly through her mind: What if I lost it? What if someone finds it? What if someone sees the sketches of Nick? Or worse, my dream? All these questions made Annette very uneasy. Nick noticed.
When they got to her home, Nick decided to find out about Annette’s strange behavior. She was jumpy almost the entire time at the carnival.
“What’s wrong, Ann?” Nick looked her, concerned.
“What are you talking about?” Annette jumped.
“Whoa, take it easy. I’m talking about the way you’ve been acting.”
“How about the way I’ve been acting?” Annette suddenly defensive.
“Well, you seemed so far away. Is something wrong?” Nick’s eyes narrowed.
“The thing is, I can’t find my sketchbook.”
“Is that it? That’s not so bad.” Nick smiled.
“Oh really? Well, get this: the nude sketches of you are in there. What if someone found it? I can see the headlines now: BLOND BACKSTREET BOY POSES NUDE- more on pg. 3.” Annette looked at him.
“Ok, I’m panicking. You check over there and I’ll check over here.”
They looked everywhere. Then finally, after an hour, Annette found it. She was ecstatic. She couldn’t believe her luck!
“I found it! I found it!” Annette jumped up and down.
“Oh thank God!” Nick exclaimed.
She ran over to Nick. Suddenly her foot caught on the carpeting. Nick ran and caught her just in time. They were only centimeters apart. This time neither pulled away. Instead, they moved closer. Lips touched lips gently. Urgency and passion soon took over. Without pulling away, Nick scooped Annette up and carried her upstairs.
He laid her down gently on the bed. Still kissing fervently, Annette began unbuttoning his shirt. That’s when he stopped.
“Nick, what is it?” Annette stared into his ocean blue eyes.
“I’ve never done this before.” He looked down, timid.
“You haven’t?” Annette couldn’t believe it.
“No.”
“That’s ok. I’ll help you.” She lifted his chin up to look at him.
