Another knock sounded at her door as Brandi rubbed the last bit of lotion into her leg. Assuming it was Susan again, she called out, "Come on in."

The door opened, revealing JC.

"Uh, I can, uh, come back later." he stuttered, starting to turn.

"No! It's alright, come in," Brandi said quickly, wiping her hands on the towel next to her feet, "What's up?"

Holding up the glass, he replied, "Brought you your drink."

"Oh, thanks! You don't have to just stand there. Have a seat." Brandi said, holding out her hand.

JC pushed the door shut, not realizing that it wasn't closed all the way, and crossed the room. He handed Brandi the glass, then looked around the room. Taking the drink, Brandi stood and crossed to her bed. She sat and patted the bedspread next to her.

Seeing him hesitate, she laughed and said, "I don't bite. It's okay, really."

Blushing, he sat beside her.

"So...Susan says you like sushi." Brandi said, trying to fill the awkward silence.

"Yeah. Do you?"

"Actually, I've never had it, if you can believe that."

"Well then, I guess I'll just have to take you for some while I'm down here." JC said, looking at her. He couldn't believe that he'd just said that.

"Guess so." Brandi replied with a soft laugh, looking him in the eyes.

They sat that way for a long time. Before she realized what was happening, they were leaning slowly toward eachother. His hand lightly grazed her cheek as she closed her eyes. She could feel his breath on her lips, when the door suddenly opened.

"Hey guys, do you want.." Chris was saying as he entered the room. Looking up, he suddenly realized what he had walked in on, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. The door was already open, so I just...I'm so sorry!"

He turned and left before either JC or Brandi could say anything. They sat in an awkward silence, gazing around the room, yet never looking at eachother, until Brandi finally broke it.

Picking up her glass, she said, "Uh, I guess we should go out there and join everyone."

JC just nodded and followed her. Susan caught him as he walked by her door.

"So, what happened?" she whispered, pulling him in again.

"Well, we were this close to kissing, but Chris walked in. Then we just sat there, all awkward and stuff, then she decided that maybe we should go out there with everyone else."

"Oh, JC, I'm sorry. Listen, she usually goes in her room right after dinner. She's pretty much in there for the night, doin whatever. Catch her then." Susan said, before leading him back down the hall to join their friends.
