"Where do we start looking?" Zac asked. "I mean, we have no clues."
"I haven’t been home in like, 3 days," Annie said suddenly. "I should probably check in."
"Ok," Jez said. "I’ll go with you."
So they headed on over to Annie’s house.
"Mike?" Annie said as she walked in the house. Her parents were at work, but her 10 year old brother should be home.
"In here," he called back. He was in the living room playing his N64.
‘Ugh!’ Annie thought. ‘Rayman!’
"Hey! I like this game!" Mike said.
"What?" Jez asked.
"Annie just said she hated Rayman."
"Not out loud…" Annie said.
"Yeah right, and now you can read minds!" Mike said.
"Jez," Annie said worriedly. "Why did he hear that? I didn’t say that out loud."
"Wait…" Jez said. "Oh my God…"
"What?" Annie demanded.
"This is just what I think," Jez said.
"Tell me!"
"I think you’re a lost witch," she stated simply.
"WHAT?" Annie demanded.
"Why else could your brother hear you?" Jez asked. "Hmm?"
"Well…" Annie said, her mind racing. She finally gave up. "You think so?"
"It would make sense," Jez said.
"I’ll make a call to Circle Daybreak."
Jez got out her cell phone again and dialed up Circle Daybreak.
"Hello?" Ash answered.
"Ash, this is Jez," Jez said. "Put Poppy on the phone."
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
"Hang on."
Jez waited a moment for Poppy to come to the phone.
"Hello?" she said cheerfully.
"Poppy," Jez said. "I need to ask you something."
"Sure, ask away."
"Remember when you and James discovered that you and Phil were both lost witches? How did you know?"
"Well…when I was in trouble, thanks to Ash! I was screaming in my head and Phil came to save me."
"So he heard you telepathically? And you all thought he was human?"
"Yeah," Poppy answered. "Why do you need to know this Jez?"
"Annie’s brother just read her mind."
"Woah."
"Talk to you later Poppy."
"Bye Jez."
Jez put her cell phone away.
"Well, it looks to me like somewhere down your bloodline there’s some witch blood."
"Why are you doing this?" Jennifer asked.
"You keep asking that!" Keller said. "Why can’t you think of something else?"
"Where are we?" she asked now.
"Now I can’t tell you that," Keller said sweetly. "If I told you and you escaped, they’d try to find me and we can’t have that now can we?"
"How about this question, why are you such a bitch?" Jennifer spat.
Keller bitch slapped her upside the head. "Don’t mess with me Jennifer."
Jennifer closed her eyes and put her free hand to her head.
"I’m going for a walk," Keller said. "Have fun chained in your cell!"
‘Are you ok, Jen?’ Tay thought.
‘Yeah. It was a good blow to the head though.’
‘Yeah, I felt it too.’
‘Taylor?’ Jen sniffled. ‘I’m scared. You guys have to find me and get me out of here! I am SO scared! I just want to be with you! Safe in your arms!’
‘I know Jen,’ Tay thought. ‘I want to be with you, too. But I promise that we’ll find you. I’ll be here with you all the time. No matter what.’
