Chapter 20

Jennifer's eyes fluttered open. She had no idea where she was. She tried standing up, but one of her hands was chained to a wall. Her eyes roamed the new environment. It was a cement room with very little furnishing. She heard cars and trucks, but didn't see a television. She then noticed Keller step from a corner and she gasped.

"That's right, Jennifer," Keller said with an evil grin.

"What the hell?" Jennifer stuttered.

"You're mine now," Keller said. "There is no way your precious Taylor can find you down here."

"Where are we?" Jennifer said weakly.

"I'm not telling you!" Keller snapped. "But let's just say that your life is going to be hell," she finished and smiled.

The next morning, Taylor awoke with a pounding headache. He tried to stand up, but he was unable to, without the room spinning. Jen must be having one, he thought. It was weird, but lately he and Jennifer had been sharing the same pains. Any time he'd have a headache, so would she. Fifteen minutes later, Taylor drug himself out of bed. "Ike, wake up," he said and left the room.

Taylor walked down the hall to the guest bedroom.

"Jennifer," he whispered as he knocked on the door. No answer. "Jennifer," he said louder and knocked on the door harder. Still no answer. Taylor then stepped inside and saw that the room was empty.

"Isaac!" Taylor yelled as he burst into their bedroom.

"What?" Isaac yelled as he jumped out of bed.

"Jen is gone!" Taylor said, hysterically.

"Before we jump to conclusions, let's search the house first," Isaac said rationally. After searching the house for half an hour, they both realized that Jennifer was not there. Isaac ran outside to see if Jennifer was on the porch. "Who are you?" he asked a man.

"I'm Brian," Brian said.

"Listen," Isaac said, "have you seen a girl about 5'7" with brown hair to her shoulders?"

"Last night," Brian said. "She was nuts. She demanded that I get in contact with her friend. She threatened my life."

"Yep, that was Jen," Isaac laughed. "Do you know where she is?"

"Have you found her?" Taylor asked as he burst outside.

"No, why?" Brian asked.

"She's not inside!" Taylor exclaimed.

"What?" Brian said. "Are you sure?"

"YES!" Taylor yelled.

"I have to tell Jez," Brian muttered as he dialed the number. "Jez," Brian said. "Jennifer is missing."

"What?!" Jez shrieked into the phone.

"What is it?" Ash asked as he placed his book on the table.

"Jennifer is gone," Jez hissed.

"What?" Annie said as she jumped off the couch. "I told her not to do anything stupid!"

"OK," Jez said and hung up the phone. "Listen," she said to Zac and Annie, "you two have to stay here."

"NO!" Annie and Zac said together.

"Yes," Ash said. "More than likely, Keller got her, and we have to find Keller. You two have to stay here!"

"Oh no," Annie wailed as she sat down. "I just hope she is OK," she whispered to Zac.
