One LIfe to Live

Chapter Twelve b

Randi had finished getting her shower and washing her hair when a recent memory of her parents had surfaced. She had seen them for the last time a month ago on her Mom's birthday. "Mom, you're getting old" she had teased her mother. "Shhh. Don't tell anyone I'm actually 45. I have everyone believing I'm not a day over 21" she'd laughed. Randi and her father had broken out laughing along with her.

Just thinking about it was enough to start Randi crying again. She sat down in the shower and drew her legs up and cried. For her loss of her parents. That two fairly young people with a least another 40 years ahead of them had had their lives taken away. Knowing that whenever she had a child, her parents would never know. They wouldn't see her get married. For all the lost opportunities, Randi cried.

Kevin had picked up and started reading when he heard the all too familiar sound coming from the bathroom. Damn, he thought. And she was doing so well. He marked his place in his book and set it on the night table. He got up and went to the bathroom door and knocked. "Randi?" he asked loudly. No answer. Kevin took a deep breath and tried the doorknob. Unlocked. He slowly pushed the door inward, still calling her name. Still no answer. Mentally preparing himself, Kevin grabbed a towel off the rack and opened the shower curtain a little to peek inside. He spotted her sitting on the shower floor with her back to him. He dropped the curtain back and moved to the other end of the shower and turned the water off. Then he knelt next to the shower and opened the shower curtain. "Randi" he said trying to get her attention. When he didn't get a response, he reached his hand out and put it on her bare shoulder. Randi looked up. Then she shook her head and curled into a tighter ball. Kevin sighed. He picked the towel back up and proceeded to wrap it around her. Then he stood up, leaned over and picked Randi up.

Randi looked up, startled. "Oh, Kevin!" she moaned as she wrapped her arms around his neck and nestled her face into his bare chest.

Focus, he thought. I know she doesn't have a stitch on, and you only have your boxers and a pair of shorts on, but she needs emotional support right now, not the grand seduction. What his mind said didn't seem to transfer to other parts of his body, he thought wryly and he gently set Randi on the bed. Then he laid next to her and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. After awhile, Randi's tears subsided.

Randi looked up at Kevin. He was looking down at her with a look of concern. "Thank you, Kevin" she whispered.

"You're welcome," he said gruffly.

Randi looked back down and for the first time noticed that she had nothing on and Kevin was practically naked himself. Her towel had long since stopped covering her front side, which was in direct contact with Kevin. Her bare breasts were smashed up against his bare chest. Slowly, Randi moved her hand from behind Kevin's neck. Keeping just the tips of her fingers on his warm skin, she moved them lightly down his bare back and around his side until her palm rested flat above his nipple. "Kevin?" she asked softly.

"Yeah?" he responded, having trouble breathing. This woman was going to drive him crazy.

Randi looked up at Kevin. She could feel his body's response to her. She could hear him struggling to breathe normally. Licking her lips, Randi moved upward a little, brushing her breasts against his chest. She could see his eyes darkening and a lustful look appear. Randi pushed him onto his back, leaned over him, and kissed him. Long and hard. Randi pulled away a little. "Make love to me Kevin" she pleaded, licking her lips again.

Sweet Jesus, the way she licked her lips was going to drive him crazy! She picked his hand up and brought it to her breast. Moaning, Kevin pulled her down for another kiss. He d knew this was wrong, but he couldn't help himself! Now she was pulling him on top of her. Just stop thinking, he commanded his mind as he began doing exactly what she'd asked him to do.
