Epilogue

The tour had finally come to an end. Katlyn was more than happy to be back home and relaxing in her and Justin’s house.

They were excited to finally be allowed a break. No scheduled appearances, no concerts, and no photo shoots…just time to rest and spend time together.

“So, nothing planned for a while, right?” Katlyn asked, stretched out on the couch.

“Nope.” Justin handed her a water bottle.

Angel ran over and jumped on the couch next to Justin.

“Have you noticed how big she is all of a sudden?” Justin asked petting the dog.

“Yeah, well that’s what happens when you’re gone for a few months.”

“Do you want to watch a movie?” Justin asked after a few minutes.

“Sure, but you better come over here.”

“Why can’t you come over here?”

“Because I’m tired.”

“Tired? Why are you so tired? I was the one singing and dancing every night.” Justin complained.

“Yeah, but I had to run around looking for all five of you before the show and make sure each of you were dressed in thirty seconds during the costume changes.” Katlyn argued.

“Fine, fine.” Justin got up and walked over to the couch she was sitting on. “You always win.”

They curled up and flipped through the many movie channels, but found nothing.

“So now what?” Katlyn asked still resting on Justin.

“Now you can get up and put in a movie.” Justin semi-laughed.

“Why me?” Katlyn pouted.

“Because you made me move over to you.”

“Ok, jeez. So, what do you want to watch?” Katlyn kneeled down next to the DVD’s. “Let’s see…She’s All That? Oh wait, Save the Last Dance? My favorite, Dirty Dancing?”

“Kate, you know I love you, but no chick flicks.” Justin said from the couch.

“Fine. Oh…what about Backstreet Boys Around the World? I love that!”

“Do we even have that?”

Katlyn brought out the DVD and showed it to him. “Yep. That would be part of my collection.”

“That’s just great. I can’t wait for like MTV Cribs to come by and see that!” Justin joked.

“Scratch that…On the Line.” Katlyn took out the DVD and walked over to the player.

“No, no, no.”

“Yes, yes, yes.”

“Katlyn Marie Hart, I don’t want to watch that!” Justin complained.

“Justin Randall Timberlake, I like it, especially you at the end.” She said with a little laugh.

“Thanks, but can you watch it when I’m not here.?”

“No.” Katlyn put the DVD in and turned around to see Angel now stretched out where she had been. “Angel, down.”

“She’s comfortable.” Justin said petting the dog.

“Where am I supposed to sit?” Katlyn walked over to the couch and stood in front of him.

Justin patted his lap. “You can sit here.”

Katlyn smiled widely and curled up on his lap.

“I just want you to know I’m watching this movie against my will.” Justin said as his arm wrapped around her.

“I know, Justin. You’ve made that clear.” Katlyn laughed.

They watched the movie quietly and then turned it off.

“What do you want to do now?” Katlyn asked, readjusting herself on his lap.

Justin looked at the clock and realized it was getting later and later. “Why don’t we start making dinner?”

Katlyn stood up. “Sounds good to me.”

Justin stood up and followed her to the kitchen. He pulled out some pasta and put a pot of boiling water on the stove. “What kind of sauce do you want?”

“Doesn’t matter.” Katlyn said, making the salad.

Justin pulled out a can of tomato sauce and warmed it up in a separate pan. Then he poured the dried pasta into the water.

Katlyn wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed his shoulder. “Is everything ok? You seem a little tense?”

Justin slightly shook his head. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

Katlyn rubbed his arm. “Are you sure?”

Justin turned and placed a kiss on he forehead. “Yes.”

Katlyn looked in his eyes and could tell he was hiding something and was nervous about something.

He quickly looked away knowing she would find his secret.

Katlyn turned away and started setting the table. They both ate quietly, both not sure what to say to the other. When they were done, they both cleared the table.

“I’ll be right back.” Justin said running up the stairs.

Katlyn shook her head watching his retreating form.

He came back down a few minutes later. “Ok, I, um…want to take you somewhere.”

Katlyn slipped on her shoes. “Where?”

“You should know me by now, I’m not gonna tell you.” Justin grinned at her.

Katlyn followed him outside and to his car. They got in and Justin started driving.

It was pretty quiet except for the small conversation going. Katlyn looked out the window but could barely see anything because of the dark.

Finally the car stopped.

“Don’t get out.” Justin ordered stepping out of his door.

Katlyn undid her seatbelt and waited in the car. Her door opened and Justin helped her out and led her over a few feet. She suddenly realized where they were; there little spot that overlooked the ocean.

“J, what are we doing here?”

“I just thought it would be nice.” Justin said with a shrug. He pulled her over to the cliff and wrapped his arms around her. “Do you know how special you are to me?” He whispered.

“No, how special am I to you?” Katlyn joked.

Justin laughed lightly. “A lot, that’s all you need to know.”

“That’s all? A lot?”

“Ok, lets see…I fall asleep looking at you, I dream about you, I wake up looking at you, every second of everyday I think about you, when I’m not close to you, I wanna be, and most importantly, I love you.”

“Justin, that was so sweet.”

“I’m not done yet!” Justin jokingly snapped. “Now, where was I? Oh, I can’t eat, sleep, live, or breathe without you. I need you in my life…always.”

Katlyn smiled and felt tears come to her eyes.

“You weren’t supposed to cry when I said that.”

“What am I supposed to do, laugh?” Katlyn joked.

Justin wiped her tears away and leaned down to give her a soft kiss. Justin then stood up tall and took a deep breath. “Now…” He reached in his pocked and took something out while kneeling down on one knee. Katlyn gasped. Justin took her hand. “Kate, you know I love you and I know we’ve been through a lot. Lies separated us for a while, but I never stopped loving you. Lies might have hurt us and brought us down, but we got right back up. I can promise you though, that I will always love you no matter what, and that is not a lie. Katlyn Marie Hart, will you marry me?”

Katlyn felt tears flowing freely as she smiled. “Yes, I will.”

Justin smiled and slipped the ring on her finger and stood up to pull her in for a hug and a passionate kiss.
