All of Katlyn’s stuff in the dorm was boxed and loaded into Justin’s car. Justin drove those boxes to his house and unloaded them with the help of the other guys, while Katlyn drove to her parent’s house to start packing her stuff there. Justin went to the house to help Katlyn finish packing, and then they loaded those boxes into Justin’s car with a few extra boxes in Katlyn’s car. They drove the last of her stuff to Justin’s house and started to unload the majority of it but ended up collapsing on his couch from exhaustion.
“I am never moving again.” Katlyn said resting her head on Justin’s chest.
“I hope you never plan too.” Justin said kissing the top of her head.
“I hope so too. But, if you piss me off and I have to move out, YOU are packing all of my stuff and moving me. Got it?”
“Got it.” Justin chuckled. “So, what do you want for dinner?”
“Let’s just order some pizza or something.”
“No. It’s your first official night here. I’m gonna cook you dinner.”
“You can cook?” Katlyn questioned.
Justin tickled the side of her. “Of course I can.”
“Well then, Mr. Chief, start cookin’...I’m hungry.”
Justin let out a small laugh and sat up, pushing Katlyn off of him.
“That was nice, very graceful, J.” Katlyn joked sitting up.
Justin walked into the kitchen pulling things out he would need for the dinner. Katlyn followed him in, taking out a water bottle from the fridge and sat up on one of the many counters. “So, what are you making?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“Surprise like you won’t tell me or surprise like you don’t know?”
Justin smiled widely. “Both.” He set a pot of water on the stove and turned the heat on, then grabbed a bunch of vegetables and set them next to Katlyn. Then he pulled out a cutting board and a knife.
“So I have to wake up to your ugly face every morning now?” Katlyn joked.
Justin set down the items and stood in front of her. Katlyn wrapped her legs around his waist to pull him closer and set her hands on his shoulder and started playing with the curls on his neck. “So you’re going to share a bed with me?”
Katlyn nodded. “Well I’m not going to sleep in one of the guest rooms in this huge house and I’m sure and hell not going to sleep on the couch.”
“What if I don’t want you too?”
Katlyn smirked. “Then why did I just move in with you?”
“Why did you answer a question with a question?”
“You did too.”
“We’ve only live with each other for an hour and we’re already bickering.”
Katlyn let out a small laugh and leaned down.
“And what makes you think I’m gonna kiss you?” Justin joked.
“Because you love me.”
“I do?” Justin laughed.
Katlyn hit his arm. “You better, I just moved in with you!”
Justin smiled and leaned down to give her a soft kiss. “Now go do something while I finish this.”
“Like what?”
“Go get a tan outside, you like that, right?”
“It’s too late to get a tan.”
“Then swim or something.”
“I don’t want to swim without you.”
“What about a nap?” Justin suggested.
“That may be nice.” Katlyn smiled and slid off the counter. “I’m gonna go to your room.”
“Our room.” Justin corrected as she walked out of the room.
She lay on the large bed and fell asleep quickly. She only was able to sleep for a half an hour so she went back down to the kitchen, Angel following her.
She wrapped her arms around his waist as he stirred something. “Is it ready yet?”
“Not yet. I’ll come get you when it is.” Justin said setting the spoon down.
Katlyn gave him a quick kiss and walked back into the living room and grabbed a box, carrying it up to the room, Angel by her side the entire time. She patted Angel and started laying out her shampoo’s, soaps, lotions, perfumes, and makeup in the bathroom. Then went back downstairs to grab another box filled with clothes. She emptied the box and started refolding the items and placing them into piles all over the bed.
Minutes later Justin came up to get her. “Dinner is ready, my lady.”
Katlyn turned around. “It took you long enough.” She joked.
Justin just laughed and escorted her down to the dinning room. The room was dark, the only light coming from the two candles that sat in the middle of the table; food was spread out and with it stood a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
“Wow...impressive.” Katlyn said walking into the room.
Justin pulled out her chair for her and then pushed it in after she had sat, then he sat in the chair next to her. They ate talking about what it was going to be like to live together. After they were done, Justin started clearing up the plates, Katlyn insisted on helping but Justin wouldn’t let her. They took their glasses with the remaining champagne outside and curled up on one of the lawn chairs, throwing a blanket over them.
“So, what are you guys doing next?” Katlyn asked.
“Beside the new tour...we’ve got the Olympics and the Grammy’s.”
“Great, so that means I’m gonna be busy again.” Katlyn reached across Justin and set her now empty glass on the table. She pulled the blanket up higher around them and cuddled into Justin’s chest.
“Yep. You have to make us look good.” Justin started rubbing her back.
“Which is a very, very, VERY hard job.”
Justin chuckled. “Don’t I know that...four out of the five of us are ugly.”
“Thank God JC is so nice in making my job easier.”
“So you DO think JC is cuter then me!”
“I was just joking, Justin.” Katlyn laughed.
“But you said a while ago that JC was cuter then me too...actually you said ALL the guys were cuter then me!”
Katlyn laughed again and patted his chest. “I was just trying to get you riled up and it worked. No one is sexier then you.”
“You’re just saying that so I don’t throw you in the pool.”
Katlyn tightened her arms around his waist. “You wouldn’t do that.”
“Is that a challenge?”
“No!” Katlyn quickly said, knowing Justin all to well. “I am perfectly content in lying here with my extremely hot boyfriend.”
“You saved yourself this time.”
His hand stroked her hair while the other one rubbed up and down her arm. She snuggled into his chest again and closed her eyes. Justin felt her body relax and her breathing deepen and realized she was asleep. He carefully unwrapped her arms from around his waist and struggled with getting up without waking her up. He finally did and then picked her up and took her into the house and up the stairs to their room. He set her in the bed and put the covers over her, then he took the piles of clothes off of the bed and put them on the chair. He took off his jeans and his shirt, so he was just in his undershirt and boxers and then crawled into the bed next to her. He pulled her into his arms and fell asleep.
(February 14, 2002)
Katlyn awoke to something tickling her nose. She slowly opened her eyes to see a red rose in front of her face. She turned to see Justin propped up with one arm while the other dangled the rose over her. “What time is it?” She asked with a yawn as she started stretching her arms and legs.
“It’s time for you to wake up.” Justin smiled down at her.
Katlyn decided to just look at the clock sitting on the stand next to her. “Why are you waking me up at eight thirty?”
Justin set the flower on her stomach. “Did you forget what today was?”
Katlyn turned and started concentrating on the flower while she tried to think of what the day was. ‘It’s not his birthday...it’s not my birthday...our anniversary is in August...what the hell has gotten into him?’
“You seriously have no idea, do you?” Justin sat up starting to laugh.
“Well, all I came up with was that it’s Wednesday, February 14th.” Katlyn said still thinking.
Justin leaned forward hoping that date would have given her a hint. “And...”
Katlyn sat up in bed and looked at him. “Justin, these little mind games aren’t fun especially at eight thirty. Will you just tell me?”
“I can’t believe you! Kate, it’s only a freakin’ holiday that has been around for YEARS now! It was made for people in love...” Justin said hoping he would spark something.
Katlyn’s eyes started to grow and a blush started to creep over her cheeks. “Oops.”
Justin laughed and leaned down to give her a kiss. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Katlyn gave him another quick kiss and jumped out of the bed. “Happy Valentine’s Day.” She opened the closet and ran inside, opening a box and pulling out a denim skirt and a black tank-top with the word ‘Love’ written in red writing, feeling it was well suited for the day. She ran into the bathroom, took a quick shower and changed into the clothes. She brushed out her hair and threw it into a ponytail and then exited the bathroom.
Justin looked up at her, still sitting in bed. “Why are you in such a hurry?”
“Um...I just remembered I was suppose to meet someone this morning, and I’m running late.” Katlyn reopened the closet and looked for some shoes. She slipped on some black platform sandals and walked over to Justin. She bent down to give him another kiss. “I love you...I’ll be back in a few hours.”
“Are you going to spend Valentine’s Day with JC?” Justin joked.
“Yes, we’re spending the morning together then the rest of the day is with you.” Katlyn joked and gave him another kiss. “Bye, J.”
Justin jumped out of bed and grabbed her around the waist before she could leave the room. “Do you think you’re getting out of here that easily?”
“Justin, I really have to go.” Katlyn said trying to escape his arms.
Justin pinned her against the wall and leaned down so his mouth was inches away from hers. “It’s Valentine’s Day and you’re just going to run out of here?”
“I’m only going to be gone for a few hours.”
Justin leaned the rest of the way down and crushed her lips with his. Katlyn’s hands found their way up to his neck while one of his arms snaked around her waist with the other arm above her shoulder, pressed against the wall. He pulled away and took a step back, licking his lips. “You may go now.”
Katlyn’s eyes fluttered open and she slowly raised herself from the wall. “Are you sure?”
“Well, if you don’t leave now I may throw you on that bed and-“
Katlyn covered his mouth with her own for a second in a kiss. “I’ll see you in a few hours.”
“Have fun.” Justin called as she started jogging down the stairs and through the house, picking her purse up that was sitting on the couch.
Katlyn jogged out of the house and jumped into her car. She looked into the mirror to straighten her hair and then put some lip gloss on. She grabbed her cell phone out of her purse and dialed up a familiar number, starting the engine. While she waited for the person to pick up, she backed out of the drive way and started driving down the street.
“Hello?”
“Hey Jackie.”
“Hey Kate, what’s up?”
“Well, with all this moving I seemed to have forgotten a certain day.”
Jackie laughed. “Wait, let me guess. You didn’t get anything for Justin for Valentine’s Day?”
“Bingo.” Katlyn said with a laugh. “So, do you want to help me find something?”
“I’ll be ready in five minutes...but I’m sure you’re almost here.”
“I’m right outside the dorm. I’ll be up in a few minutes.” Katlyn ended the call and dialed up JC’s number while she got out of her car and locked it.
“Hello?”
“Hey lover boy, Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“Hey Kate. Don’t you have your own boyfriend to torment today?” JC laughed.
“Yes, but I like to torment you too.”
“How nice of you. So, what do you need?”
“No laughing...I forgot Valentine’s Day and I didn’t get anything for Justin, what should I get him?” Katlyn said walking up the stairs of the dorm.
“You forgot? But you’re a chick! Chick’s never forget those kind of days!”
“Shut up and help me.”
“I seriously have no idea.”
Katlyn knocked on her old dorm room door and waited. “That’s not any help...what kind of friend are you?”
Laura opened the door and gave Katlyn a hug as she walked in.
“Why don’t you buy a little lacey piece of lingerie and wear it for him tonight? I’m sure that will be all the gift he needs.”
“You are such a guy. I ask for a gift and you come up with sex.”
Laura and Jackie both started laughing at what they had heard her say. Katlyn started hurrying them to the door so they could leave.
“Well you wanted my help....I’m just telling you what Justin would love to get.”
“No offence, JC...but I think I could have come up with that myself. I was hoping you could think of an actual GIFT.” Katlyn opened the doors to her car and they all jumped in.
“Sex could be a gift.” JC defended.
“Yes it could be, but I was thinking more along the lines of an ACTUAL gift, something he could open.”
JC started laughing. “Way too easy...I won’t even say anything.”
“Joshua Scott Chasez! Where is your mind today?!” Katlyn yelled pulling back on to the road and heading for the mall.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” JC finished laughing. “What about a box of condoms?”
“JC!! Be serious now!”
“Well you said something he could open! You can give him the box and then show him the new little lacey outfit and then...well, you know.”
“Never again.” Katlyn muttered.
“Never again, what?” JC asked.
“Never again will I ever ask you for advice!” Katlyn said letting out a little laugh.
“Ok, I’m sorry. Serious now...I really have no idea what you could get him. How did you forget Valentine’s Day?”
“Well with all the moving and just kind of forgot what the day was.” Katlyn pulled into the mall parking lot and parked. “Well thanks for ALL that help, but we’re at the mall, so I’ll find something myself. Bye.” Katlyn hung up and put the phone back in her purse. “Ok, lets go find something for him.”
“I have an idea!” Laura said as they started walking in.
“What?” Katlyn asked hopeful.
“What about like a naked picture of you blown up or something?”
Katlyn hit her arm. “Good idea, Laur! Then we can hang it on the wall in the living room so everyone can see!”
“So do you have anything in mind?” Jackie asked.
“I don’t know. What do you get a guy for Valentine’s Day?”
“What about a picture frame?”
“But we’ve been going out for over a year, we’ve given each other picture frames...I want to give him something more.”
“Like your virginity?” Laura whispered.
“I’m beginning to think you and JC are sharing the same brain today. And as for that...I already gave that to him six months ago.”
“And you didn’t tell me?!” Laura said spinning around to face her.
“I’m sorry I didn’t call you and announce that I had lost my virginity.” Katlyn hissed softly so no one else could hear. “It’s not something I just prance around telling everyone.”
“You’re right. Walking into the room you were supposed to be in at six o’clock in the morning, wearing HIS shirt was much better.” Jackie laughed.
“She knew?!” Laura asked angrily.
“I didn’t want her too! She was just nosey!” Katlyn said defensively.
“So how many other times have you and wonder boy got it on?” Laura asked raising an eyebrow.
“We are in public...I’m not going to tell you two my sex life in a mall! Actually, scratch that....I’m not going to tell you at all!” Katlyn exploded. “We’re here to get him a Valentine’s gift, so help me find something!”
Laura swung her arm around Katlyn’s shoulder. “We’re sorry. But you ARE my best friend...you really need to tell me things like this.”
Katlyn rolled her eyes. “No. That is something that stays between Justin and I, it doesn’t leave the bedroom.”
“Or the hotel room.” Jackie added. Katlyn slapped her arm.
“Do you really think Justin keeps it to himself? I’m sure everyone of the guys know about you two.” Laura added.
“Even though some think Justin is just like every other guy in this world, he really is a sweet guy. He wouldn’t do that, he knows it is very special.”
“You keep thinking that.” Laura joked.
“Ok! Once again, let’s weave away from my sex life and go back to shopping for a gift!”
“Gotcha.” Jackie and Laura both said.
They walked in a few stores and looked around. Three hours later they walked out of their last store...Victoria’s Secret. They put the bags in the trunk of Katlyn’s car and Katlyn drove Jackie and Laura back to their dorm. She drove back to her and Justin’s house and punched in the code for the gate and then parked outside of the garage.
Katlyn grabbed her three bags from the trunk and walked in the house. “Justin?”
The house was dark, but all of Justin’s cars were still there meaning he couldn’t have left anywhere.
“Justin, where are you?” Katlyn yelled through the house. She set her bags on the end table next to the couch. She walked over to the stairs and saw little red paper cut out hearts that were scattered all the way up the stairs with red rose pedals mixed in. Every few steps sat a rose, which she would pick up and continue her walk. Once she reached the top of the stairs, the path was directed to their room. She walked over to the door, which was closed, and stood in front of it, scarred to know what was to await her on the other side.
She slowly crept the door open and looked inside. The entire room was covered in lit candles and the floor had rose pedals all over it. The window curtains were closed, making the room dark. She looked down at the bed and almost laughed. Justin was stretched across it wearing only red boxers with hearts and kiss marks over them and had a large smile on his face.
“You’re back.” Justin said in a deep, seductive voice.
Katlyn couldn’t hold back her laughter any more; she was bent over, hands over her stomach, laughing uncontrollably. Justin stood up and strolled over to her.
“Oh, god...Justin, don’t.” Katlyn said holding her hands up, still laughing.
“I missed you, baby.” Justin said in the same seductive voice. “But I’m glad you’re back.”
Katlyn put her hand on his chest and was still laughing. “You have no idea how...how stupid you look.” She barely choked out.
“I look stupid, huh?” He asked in the same voice.
“Yes...incredibly!”
A smile crept over his face as he now tried to hold the laughter in. “I can’t look that bad.”
Katlyn finally opened her eyes and wiped the tears away that had been squeezed out while laughing and looked him up and down and started laughing again. “You do.”
Justin wrapped his arms around her waist, lifted her up, carried her over to the bed and laid her on it. “Then maybe we should do something about them.”
Katlyn’s laughing slowed down and she took a deep breath and then looked up at him. “Maybe we could.”
Justin raised an eyebrow at her and started tickling her. When he finished he gave her a sweet kiss.
“I guess the item from Victoria’s Secret won’t be needed today.” Katlyn said cuddling closer to him.
“Victoria’s Secret? You could show it to me later.” Justin suggested, wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
Katlyn kissed his chest. “Later would be just fine.” She leaned up and kissed him deeply, as he rolled her over onto her back, so he was on top of her.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Angel.” Justin whispered.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, J.”
