Jealousy is something that burns into many people. Many get jealous of pop stars, N SYNC, which is understandable. For guys, they see N SYNC as an almost “Chick magnet”, they have girls screaming for them and throwing themselves at the individual members. Girls aren’t jealous of the actual guys of N SYNC but of their girlfriends. Girlfriends of these members have to deal with jealous the most, and it usually isn’t pretty. Fans see these girls with their favorite guy and are jealous because they want to be in their shoes.
Recently Katlyn Hart, girlfriend of Justin Timberlake, has been hit hard. Everyone read the updated info on the couple, which caused shock. Lying, cheating, betrayal...it was all part of the stories. How much of these articles were true though? Although the articles had key points, ninety-nine percent of those articles were false. At one point it was to be quoted, “Timberlake needs some extra love and cheering up. And as for Hart, you should probably give her a piece of your mind and let her know that what she is doing is wrong. She is hurting him.” It’s obvious that whoever wrote these were trying to get the fans to turn against Hart. It partially worked and fans tried to revolt against her. She slowly broke down and deteriorated in front of the eyes of her friends. Even though it was meant to just hurt Hart, Timberlake was hurting as well. Timberlake had to watch as the girl he loved crumbled. The hardest part was finding out that Hart’s friend was the one writing them
Hart had lived in Los Angeles, California but almost two years ago her father, Chris Hart, had gotten a job working for Jive Records. Hart had to leave her friends behind to move to Orlando, Florida. Chris Hart’s job was then discovered to not only be with Jive Records but to also be with WEG Entertainment. His new job was to co-manage the pop sensation, N SYNC. This is what brought Timberlake and Hart together. She decided to keep it her secret and didn’t tell her friends, or even her family! Timberlake and Hart started off as friends; he showed her around Orlando, took her to Disney World...everything a good friend would do. But then feelings grew and soon the two were a couple. She had finally told her friends she knew the guys of N SYNC, but didn’t say anything about dating THE Justin Timberlake. Hart told her father but didn’t tell her mother, only because at the time, her mother had disapproved. But then a few newspapers had seen the two and published articles with pictures. When Hart’s mother had found out, she had Katlyn leave the tour immediately.
Hart and her three friends Laura Thomas, Jackie Collins, and Jennifer Hawkins had all started going to University of Central Florida. Hawkins and Hart had been close friends for around ten years. Their love for N SYNC kept them close and even closer for their love of heartthrob Justin Timberlake.
Months before any of this happened, Hart had been at Timberlake’s house when he received a phone call. Hart took the message from the mysterious “Jen” and was brought to the conclusion that Timberlake had been cheating on her. After confronting him, he assured her it was nothing and that he had never betrayed her. They had a small fight and were apart for no longer than a week. But then more calls started coming. Collins and Hart had been at N SYNC’s rehearsals when Hart had found out that Timberlake had gotten a call from a “Jen”...again. After leaving for a few hours and returning to her dorm, where Timberlake had told her he would meet her, she walked in to see Hawkins push Timberlake down on the couch and kiss him. Hart then realized that the “Jen” that had been calling had been her own friend, Jennifer Hawkins. They had broken up for five months because of that. Hawkins had gotten what she wanted.
Hart had also been accused of cheating on Timberlake with his band mate and close friend, JC Chasez. Hart had gone to Chasez as a friend for advice, support, and friendship. Nothing had ever happened between the two. “Katlyn was accepted into our group immediately. I had gone through an awful breakup after I had found out that my girlfriend had cheated on me; Katlyn was there with open arms and helped me through my tuff time. So when her and Justin were having problems, I was there for her” Chasez said, “It was hard to see them fight. They were a perfect couple and then Jennifer came and ripped them apart. It not only hurt them, but everyone around them too.”
“The tension in the room was always overwhelming. It pulled at all of our hearts to see them hurt and crying.” Band mate, Lance Bass, added.
Everything that happened was made to make the fans mad, so what did they think?
“I have to admit that I was jealous when I found out about you two” Alicia Jones, 17, told Hart. “But Justin was happy and I saw that. If he was happy, then we should be happy for him. I was actually disappointed when I heard you guys broke up. Even though I still am a little jealous, since you ARE dating Justin Timberlake, I wish you two the best.”
So if the fans like Hart, why did Hawkins want to break them up?
When Hart asked Hawkins why she had done everything that she had done she replied, “Kate, you didn’t deserve him. You weren’t good enough for him.” Then later while talking to Timberlake she said, “She can’t treat you like I can. She never really loved you, Justin. I feel something when I’m with you. Something real.” Does she know she sounds like a crazy fan?
Jennifer Hawkins was blinded by jealousy. She lost a long time friend and the trust of a very popular band. What did she accomplish by not only trying to break Timberlake and Hart up but also writing false articles? Now millions will know what she did. So she got what she wanted; she was in the spotlight.
Timberlake had made it up to Hart by presenting his love for her in front of the entire Los Angeles crowd at their concert. They are back to being the happy couple everyone knows, thus making the N SYNC tour a happier place. The band, their families, the fans, along with Timberlake and Hart are all happy again...all except for Hawkins. So the perfect couple is floating on cloud nine once again and nothing can stop them.
Two pictures accompanied the article. One was when Justin and Katlyn had been “arguing” and Jennifer stood their smiling. The other was a group shot, Justin’s arms were around Katlyn’s waist, Katlyn’s head leaning against his, and all of the guys stood next to them smiling.
Katlyn looked over the published article and smiled. “So, when do you think Jennifer will see this?”
“Hopefully soon.” Justin said pulling Katlyn closer.
“I don’t think we bashed her enough.” Chris added.
“It was enough to embarrass her.” Lance said looking at the paper.
“Which is what we wanted to do.” JC said.
“I agree with Chris! We should have written more of how she was a bitch!” Joey joined.
Katlyn tilted her head and kissed Justin’s jaw. “This is fun...sitting around talking shit about Jennifer. We should do this more often.”
“When did you start cussing so much?” Justin tickled her side.
“I was an angry person for five months...I used LOTS of words.”
Justin kissed the top of her head. “Well you should be a happy person now, so I want my old Katlyn back.”
(4 hours later, Alabama)
It was finally time for their last day of the tour. The group got off of the bus and headed into the hotel. They had nothing planned until the concert that night, which they’d leave at around two in the afternoon.
It was a warm sunny day, so everyone planned on staying outside as much as possible. Lance, Joey, and Chris decided to head out and check out the town, while Katlyn, Justin, JC, Laura and Jackie decided to go out to the pool.
The girls went straight for the sunniest spot.
Katlyn took off her towel that covered her bikini and laid out on the lawn chair. “I was in serious need of a tan, I was starting to pale.”
Laura laughed. “Me too.”
“Make that three.” Jackie added.
Justin stretched out on the chair next to Katlyn. She looked at him in the corner of her eye and smiled. He looked gorgeous the way the sun was hitting him. He was wearing swim shorts and a pair of sunglasses that covered his closed eyes.
She reached over and hit his perfectly toned stomach.
Justin looked over at her. “What was that for?”
“You were looking to peaceful.”
“Would you like to meet the water?” Justin challenged.
“Not really.”
“Then let me BE peaceful.”
Katlyn lightly laughed. “It’s the last day, don’t go crazy on us.” Justin huffed. Katlyn stood up and pulled on his arm, getting him to sit up. She sat behind him and started rubbing his shoulders. “I want to stay on your good side.”
Justin let out a little laugh. “That’s a good way to do it.”
Katlyn continued massaging his shoulders and back. A few minutes later he leaned back on her. Katlyn wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed the back of his shoulder.
“Guys? We really don’t need to see that.” JC said breaking them out of their little world.
Katlyn smirked at him. “Then don’t look.”
JC just shook his head and turned away.
Justin stood up a few minutes later and pulled Katlyn with him. They sat in the hot tub and let the hot water relax them.
Katlyn scooted over so she was closer to Justin and placed her head on his outstretched arm. “I’m glad things are back to the way things use to be.”
Justin rested his head on the edge of the Jacuzzi and closed his eyes. “So am I.”
Katlyn rolled her head over so it was sitting on his shoulder and she was looking up at him. “I love you.”
Justin opened his eyes and tilted his head down. “I love you too.” He leaned down a few more inches and softly kissed her.
After about twenty minutes, they went back over to where they had been sitting and stretched out in the sun again. They lounged in the sun for a few hours longer.
“You five need to go get dressed, we’re leaving in a half an hour.” Lance said walking out on the pool deck.
They all grumbled sitting up and went up to their rooms. They quickly got dressed and were on their way. The two vans pulled up to the venue and were crowded with fans. The buses slowly pulled behind the gates and the group got out waving. They all went backstage and did their own things. Most of the group went to the toy room to play pool, video games, or just to talk. Justin and Katlyn decided to take a little walk. They walked around the backstage area and then out to the stadium. They sat up at the top of the back and looked down as people hurried around finishing up last minute things.
“Look at the size of that stage.” Katlyn said crossing her legs.
“It’s huge. Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger.”
Katlyn laughed. “Yeah, I remember the first concert of yours I went to...you guys had like two costume changes, the concert was about forty-five minutes long, and it was at the Universal Ampa Theater. The stage was tiny, but I remember walking in thinking the place was huge. That held like three thousand people, now to see this which holds fifty thousand people...this is insane.”
“Well I remember playing for a hundred people.”
Katlyn laughed again. “Did you ever think it was going to get this big?”
“I always hoped it wold, but I never thought it would.”
Katlyn smiled. “Do you hear the crazy fans out there?”
“Yeah. What do you say we pay them a visit?”
Just as they stood up, her phone started to ring.
“Hello?” She answered.
“I can’t believe you!!!”
“How nice to hear from you, Jennifer. What took you so long?”
“You wrote a whole article bashing me?!”
“Isn’t that what you did to me?” Katlyn said calmly.
“But that’s different...How did you get all those quotes? I never said that!”
“But you did. Would you like us to send you a copy of the conversation?”
“You taped it?! You set me up, didn’t you?”
“And the best part of it is, you fell for it!”
“How could you do this to me?” Jennifer cried.
“It wasn’t just me.”
“Who else helped? Jackie and Laura?”
“Yes, and the guys.” Katlyn turned and smiled at Justin, who was listening intently.
Jennifer gasped. “All of them?”
“Yep. Justin too.”
“They all hate me?” Jennifer’s voice was slowly starting to lower.
“Hate is such a mild word.”
Jennifer was silent. “I’m sorry, Kate. I should have never done that to you. I still want to be friends.”
Katlyn’s jaw practically dropped. “Friends? I don’t think I can do that.”
“Katlyn! You can’t just flush ten years of friendship down the drain. Forgive and forget!” Jennifer pleaded.
“You’re the one who killed our ten year friendship. And as for ‘forgive and forget’...I don’t think I can do that.”
“Come on, Kate. I’m sorry!”
Justin took the phone from Katlyn and held it up to his ear. “Hey, Jen! I know you’re having a hard time with this, but she doesn’t want to be friends with you, I don’t want to be friends with you, none of us want to be friends with you. Leave us alone and move on. Oh, and enjoy you life without N SYNC.” And with that he hung up and handed the phone back to Katlyn with a smile. “You wanna go see the fans now?”
Katlyn almost laughed at how he acted like the conversation with Jennifer had never happened. “Yeah, lets go.”
Justin wrapped one of his arms around her as they walked down the many stairs and across the field, making their way to the front where all the fans gathered. As soon as they were seen, fans started screaming and within seconds there were hundreds crowded around.
At four they started sound check. Katlyn and Jackie sat in the third row like always while Laura took pictures. After that they hung around the toy room until eight, when they needed to start getting ready. Katlyn and Jackie went with them to help them with putting on all of their clothes. By nine o’clock the guys were lined up and ready to start the show. Every once in a while the guys ran back to change; Katlyn and Jackie were always there waiting with their clothes already laid out. Within seconds they were dressed and running back out on stage. At the end they said their “goodbye” and “thank you” to the crowd and were running to the awaiting vans. They drove back to the hotel and got ready for their after party.
The party was going to be held in the large room on the top floor. Everyone was dancing and laughing knowing the tour was finally done.
“Are you excited it’s over?” Katlyn asked sitting on Justin’s lap, kissing his cheek.
“Of course. We get to sleep regularly now.” Justin wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
“So is everything back to normal with you two?” JC asked, who was sitting next to Justin at the table.
Katlyn smiled and kissed Justin’s cheek again. “Now that Jennifer is out of the picture...”
“She was never in the picture.” Justin corrected.
Katlyn laughed. “But now we don’t have to worry about her snooping around.”
JC rolled his eyes at the pair. “Well, as cute as this bickering is...I’m going to go find someone else to talk to.”
“Oh sit down, JC.” Katlyn pulled on his arm until he sat.
“I was going to leave you two alone, but if you want me to disturb this then I’ll stay.”
“Alone? What about all these other people?” Katlyn laughed.
The three sat talking for an hour until Justin pulled Katlyn with him out on to the dance floor. The party ended at around three the next morning. They all went to their rooms and slept until noon, then were on the buses back to Florida by one.
Katlyn jumped on Justin and Chris’ bus, which she had been staying on since her and Justin got back together. She set her backpack on the front couch and walked into the back of the bus where she heard Justin and Chris talking.
“Hey guys!” Katlyn said brightly sitting next to Justin.
“Why are you so happy?” Chris asked with a yawn.
“Because we’re going home and we get to sleep!”
“Oh, I wanted to talk to you about that.” Justin said sitting up more on the couch.
Chris jumped up at the sound of Justin’s voice. “I’ll go up there.” He ran to the front of the bus.
“You wanted to talk to me about sleep?” Katlyn asked wrinkling her nose in confusion.
“Well sorta...more of where you sleep.” Katlyn nodded waiting for him to continue. “Will you, well uh...move in with me?”
Katlyn’s head shot up. “What? Are you serious?”
Justin nodded. “Yeah. I mean, if you don’t want to...”
“Justin, that’s a HUGE step.” Katlyn said still letting it sink in.
“I know, but I love you and I want to be closer to you...but if you don’t want to yet, that’s fine.”
Katlyn’s face crinkled up into a pout. “Didn’t I just move into the dorm?”
Justin laughed. “I’ll help you move, the guys will, and I’m sure Jackie and Laura will.”
Katlyn thought about it for a second longer and then looked up at Justin. “Then I guess I have a lot of packing to do when we get back!”
Justin smiled his famous smile and hugged Katlyn. “We’ll start moving you as soon as possible.” He pulled away from their hug and kissed her.
They both curled up on the couch and turned on the TV.
“Chris! You wanna come back in here and watch a movie with us?” Katlyn yelled.
Chris walked back in the room and looked at the two of them. “Is everything ok between you two?”
Justin nodded with a laugh. “We were just talking.”
Chris sat down and they found a movie to watch. Later that night they were home.
