“Hi, Jennifer?” Justin asked into the phone.
“Yeah?”
“Hey, it’s Justin.”
“Oh...hey!” She answered surprised.
“I know you’re probably wondering why I called; I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for Katlyn and I.”
“You’re mad, I know...bye.”
“Wait!…You helped me see what a bitch she was.”
“Didn’t you guys get back together in L.A. though?”
“Yeah we did...for like ten minutes.”
“Really?” She asked even more surprised.
“Yeah, I broke up with her a few minutes after the concert.”
“Oh. So why did you call me?”
“Well, I know you’re in Orlando, but I was hoping you could come out here.”
“When and why?” Jennifer asked confused.
“Well, today if you can and just because I was thinking of you.”
“Um...sure I guess. But how will I be able to get in?”
“I’ll get you in, don’t worry. I’ll put your name on the list.”
“Ok, I’ll see you in a few hours.”
“Great, bye.” Justin hung up the phone and turned to Katlyn. “She fell for it.”
Katlyn smiled and leaned into give him a quick kiss. “Thank you. It’s time to make her suffer.”
(3 hours later)
“She’s coming up.” Mike said to Justin on the phone.
“Ok.” Justin hung up and looked at Katlyn. “Ok, time to get this started.”
Katlyn walked into Joey’s room, which was connected to Justin’s. Justin opened the door when there was a knock. “Hey! You made it!” Justin opened the door wider.
Jennifer walked in and they went and sat on the couch. “So...may I ask why you two broke up?”
“As soon as I got off stage, she started yelling at me for doing that to her and she was saying stuff like ‘I didn’t have a choice, the fans would have really hated me if I just walked away’. I thought I wanted her back, but I realized I didn’t.”
Jennifer patted his leg. “I’m sorry you had to deal with her.”
“So anyway, would you like to go to the concert?” Justin asked changing the subject.
“Of course!” Jennifer said excitedly.
Justin stood up and grabbed a pass off of the counter. “You’ll need this.”
Jennifer took it and put it in her purse. “Ok, well, I’m going to go change...I’ll see you in like an hour.”
Justin nodded and walked her to the door. “Bye.” He closed the door behind her.
Just as Jennifer stepped out, Katlyn stopped a few feet away.
“What are you doing here?” Katlyn asked coldly.
“None of your business, but since I’m in a good mood today...Justin wanted me to come down.”
“Why would...how long have you been in his room?”
“Now why would I tell you that.” Jennifer smiled. “Thanks for being a bitch so Justin would dump you.”
“But, we never broke up again.” Katlyn said slowly.
“Oops...” Jennifer smiled again. “That’s not what he said.”
Katlyn was able to get a few tears out. “I can’t believe you.” She stomped over to Justin’s door and started pounding on it. “Justin! Open this door NOW!”
“Well, I’ll see you a little later.” Jennifer turned and slowly started walking away.
“What?!” Justin yelled opening his door.
“How could you, Justin? I thought we worked everything out?”
“We did, but we’ve been dating for over a year and I realized I need a variety.”
“A variety?!”
“Isn’t that what I just said?”
“So you picked her?”
“Well...yeah.”
“And when were you planning on telling me?!”
“I guess now.” They watched Jennifer turn slightly with a smile on her face.
“I can’t believe you, Justin.”
“Get over it, Kate.”
“This hurts, Justin. This hurts a lot.”
Jennifer waited for the elevator to open and watched the argument.
Katlyn slapped Justin and then walked to the next door and went in it. Justin covered his cheek with his hand and went back in his room, closing the door.
Katlyn was already there waiting for him. “I’m sorry, sweetie. Did I hurt you?”
Justin rubbed his cheek. “Yes! I think you went a little over the top with hitting me.”
Katlyn placed her hand over his. “It just seemed right to do. It made us look like we were really fighting.” She moved both of their hands and kissed his cheek. “I’m sorry.”
Justin leaned down and placed his lips over hers.
An hour later they all went to the venue. Since they knew Jennifer would be showing up, Katlyn, Jackie, and Laura didn’t go to the toy room. Instead, the three girls went outside to talk to some fans. They started screaming as soon as they saw Katlyn. Katlyn waved and walked over to the gate.
“Hey!” Katlyn smiled at them all. She went through the gate with Dan standing close to her. Within minutes girls surrounded them.
“Can you guys do me a favor?” They all started saying yes. “Thanks. So, as you know Justin and I got back together. Well, there’s going to be an article written explaining that the other articles were all lies. So, if some of you could say what you think about the two of us, both Justin and I would really appreciate it. Can everyone quiet down?” The crowd calmed down almost immediately. “Ok, would you like to go first?” She asked a girl standing nearby. The girl nodded.
For the next few minutes, Katlyn interviewed a couple of the fans. At the end Laura took a picture of Katlyn and about twenty of the fans. She thanked them and went backstage again.
After the concert, the eight grouped on one bus. They pulled out the three tapes that were labeled “Fan’s Point of view”, “Katlyn’s Point of view”, and “Justin’s Point of view”. They played back all of the tapes to see what they had. JC worked on combining the tapes and just keeping the important parts, Joey and Chris worked on going through old pictures and picking out ones that would be useful, Laura worked on developing new pictures that she had taken, and the rest started working on stuff to put in the article. Once they reached Orlando, they all went to their own houses.
Katlyn had decided to go with Justin to his house. She had missed being around him for so long and just wanted to be near him, and Justin didn’t seem to mind one bit.
As soon as the door opened, Angel was there waiting for them. They both patted the puppy and went into the living room to sit down. Angel curled up in between them and laid her head and two front paws on Katlyn’s lap.
“Is this going to work, J?” Katlyn asked referring to their plan on getting Jennifer back.
“We’ll see.” Justin yawned.
They soon both feel asleep.
The next morning Katlyn woke up hearing something in the kitchen. Panic swept through her.
“Justin.” She whispered shaking him. “Justin!”
Justin’s eyes slowly opened. “What Kate?”
“Someone’s in your kitchen.”
“It’s probably just Angel.” Justin closed his eyes.
Katlyn looked down at the carpet and saw Angel lying on the ground below them. “I don’t think so.”
Justin tightened his arm around her and kissed her forehead. “Kate, I don’t hear anything. Just go back to sleep.”
Katlyn pushed his chest. “I can’t go back to sleep. Someone is in your-” They heard cabinets opening and closing and then footsteps walking up the stairs.
Justin jumped up. “Kate, wait down here.” He started to walk away but Katlyn grabbed him.
“No, I won’t let you go up there alone. Why don’t we just call the cops?”
“Wait down here.” Justin started walking away again.
“Justin Timberlake, listen to me. Don’t go in to that protective-man mode. Come back here!”
Justin waved her off. He crept up the stairs and followed to where the noise was coming from. Just as he had walked in the room, someone moved out from behind the door. Justin screamed which caused the person to scream and in the midst of it all, Justin tripped and fell back on to the floor.
He looked up at the person standing over him. “Mom? What are you doing here?”
Katlyn had run up when she heard the screams.
“I came to say hi, then when I saw you two sleeping, I decided to make some breakfast and clean up a bit.”
“You scared the crap out of us!” Justin got up off of the ground.
“And what do you think you just did to me?” Lynn smirked.
Katlyn smiled relieved to see it wasn’t some random crazy person. “Hi, Lynn.”
“Hi Katlyn, how have you been?”
Katlyn hugged the older woman. “I’ve been good, you?”
“I’ve been ok.” Lynn smiled at the two of them. “It’s nice to see you two together again.”
Katlyn smiled and looked at Justin who was also smiling.
“Well, why don’t we go get breakfast?” Lynn started walking out of the room.
Katlyn stopped Justin before he left. “Thanks for being a real man and screaming and then falling down. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have you around.” She joked and then patted his chest.
“She jumped out at me!” Justin defended following her.
“Yeah…sure, Justin.”
“She did!”
Katlyn laughed and sat in one of the chairs around the dinning room table as Lynn set food out. The three sat eating and talking for the next hour.
