It had been about a month ago when Katlyn’s mother finally approved of Katlyn and Justin’s relationship. Everyone was happy now, and most importantly there were no more secrets.
Katlyn was over at Justin’s house for the day. They had a day off, something they did not have often.
Katlyn’s eyes fluttered open to be hit by the bright afternoon light. She squinted against the light and finally gave up, moving to hide her face in Justin’s chest. She tightened her arms around his waist as she looked up at him. He looked like an angel. She placed a soft kiss on his lips and carefully got off the couch, walking over to the window to pull the shade down. She then walked to the kitchen to get something to drink. She shivered walking back out to the living room and noticed Justin’s sleeping body shiver too. She set her drink down and pulled the blanket over the couch covering both herself and Justin. His arm was soon around her again. Her hand found its way up to his curls like always, and carefully played with them between her fingers.
Justin’s arm tightened around her waist. She felt him kiss her forehead. “Hey, Angel.”
“Did you have a nice nap?” Katlyn asked looking up at his still tired face.
“With you by my side...of course.” He leaned down and gave her a kiss.
“So, what were you planning on doing today?”
Justin leaned down more and rested his head on her shoulder. “Just this. Nothing more.”
Katlyn lightly laughed. “Sounds exciting.”
“It is.”
“How about you get up and then we go to the park?” Katlyn suggested.
“I don’t wanna.” Justin pouted tightening his arm around her even more.
“You don’t have a choice. I wanna go.” Katlyn pulled his arm off of her and stood up. She looked back down at Justin and laughed.
His lip was poked out in a pout, his hair was everywhere, and his shirt was twisted around his body.
She leaned down and gave him a deep kiss and then stood up again. This time, she grabbed his hands and pulled him up. “Let’s go.”
Justin scooped her up in his arms and grabbed his keys on the way by. “Fine, you win.”
“Will you put me down?! I can walk by myself.” Katlyn playfully kicked her legs.
He set her down and wrapped his arms around her as they walked to the park down the street. They walked around for an hour and then a light drizzle started coming down.
“I think it’s time to go home.” Justin laughed pulling Katlyn closer for warmth.
A block away from his house, it started to rain heavily. They started running back to the house. Once inside, they laughed looking at each other. Both of them were soaking wet.
They hung up there sweaters and grabbed a towel to dry off with. Justin started a fire in the living room to help warm them up. They both sat in front of it.
“What are you guys doing for the next week?” Katlyn asked.
“We’re in the studio recording the next album.”
“Are you recording any of the songs you wrote?”
“A couple.” Justin answered simply.
“The ones you won’t let me read?” Katlyn smiled.
“Yeah...a couple of those.”
“Are you going to let me hear them before the album comes out?”
“Maybe.”
“Did you write any songs about me?”
“You’ll have to wait to find out.” Justin’s evil smile was back.
“You’re no fun. Why can’t you just tell me?” Katlyn pouted.
“What would the fun in that be? I like to torture you.”
“So, does that mean you did write a song about me?”
“No.”
Katlyn frowned. “Are you lying to me or do you just not love me enough to write a song for?”
“I didn’t write a song about you, I wrote a couple songs about you.” Justin smiled again.
Katlyn’s smile grew. “You did?”
“Yep. Because I do love you enough to write a whole ALBUM of songs about you.”
Katlyn leaned over and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I love you.”
“Just because I wrote some songs about you?”
“No, just because you’re you.” She kissed the tip of his nose. “I love you.”
Justin’s arms wrapped around Katlyn’s waist. “I love you too.”
