“Hi Katlyn!” He said running to give her a hug.
“Hey, Ty. You don’t waste time do you?” Katlyn laughed.
“I heard you turn on your computer, so I knew you were up.” Tyler sat down on her lap while she checked her mail.
“I’m bored.” Tyler whined.
“Sorry buddy, I don’t know what to say…why don’t you play video games downstairs?” Katlyn said clicking on a letter from one of her friends.
Tyler shook his head. “It’s boring doing it alone.”
Michelle walked past the room and looked in.
“Hey Michelle?” Katlyn called out.
“What?” Michelle asked stopping at her door.
“You should do something with Ty.”
“I don’t want to go with her.” Tyler whispered in her ear.
“Why don’t you?” Michelle asked Katlyn.
“Never mind, Michelle…I forgot about your busy life.” Katlyn said sarcastically.
Michelle rolled her eyes and walked out.
“Don’t ask for NSYNC tickets when they go on tour!” Katlyn called to her.
“I’ll ask dad.” Michelle muttered.
“Dad might not have a ticket for you.” Katlyn smiled.
Michelle walked back into the room. “What is that suppose to mean?”
“Have you met the band?” Katlyn asked.
“Not yet.” Michelle said. “I will though…Have you?”
“Close the door.” Katlyn ordered. Michelle did as told. “Yes I have, you haven’t heard mom talk about it?”
Michelle shook her head. “No, why?”
“I started becoming friends with the guys…especially Justin.” She whispered.
“Yeah right.” Michelle said sitting down on the bed.
“Wait! Justin really was Justin Timberlake?” Tyler asked excited.
“Yes Ty, that was Justin Timberlake. Don’t tell anyone though, it’s our secret, ok?”
Tyler nodded his head excitedly.
“I don’t believe you!” Michelle said again.
“Fine, don’t believe me…Come on Ty, we’ll go down to see dad and the guys. Maybe Justin can call Jonathan so he can come down too.”
Tyler jumped up. “Do they have video games there? Can me and Jonathan play them?”
“Yes they do, and I’m sure you could.”
“Can I go?” Michelle said softly.
“Why would I take you?…You don’t believe me.”
“I’m sorry.” Michelle said softly.
“What?” Katlyn said not really believing what she heard.
“I’m sorry…for being a bitch lately.”
“Ooooh…That’s a bad word.” Tyler said in a whiney voice.
“Tyler…” Katlyn grabbed his hand and pushed him out the door gently.
“What’s a matter Michelle?” Katlyn sat next to her.
“We use to be close, tell everything to each other…and then I changed. I started hanging out with some people, and I thought it was cool being this way…it’s not. I miss what we had.” Michelle said sadly.
Katlyn took a deep breath. She finally understood why her sister changed.
“I want things to change back to normal. I have a chance to make new friends now. How did you make new friends so quick?” Michelle asked.
“Well I didn’t exactly make new friends, I made more friends. And you would have to if you came.” Katlyn said.
“I want to be friends with them.” Michelle said hopefully.
“Well…you’re fourteen and their a little older…but I’m sure we can work something out. Look at Tyler, he’s friends with Justin’s brother!”
Michelle smiled. Something Katlyn hadn’t seen for awhile. “Thanks, Kate…I’m so sorry for the way I’ve treated you.”
“As long as you’re back to normal, I’ll forgive you.” Katlyn reached out and hugged her sister. “Now, lets get ready…you have to meet N SYNC!”
Michelle walked to her room to get dressed while Katlyn got dressed in her room. Twenty minutes later they met back up in Katlyn’s room.
“Ok, I’m ready.” Michelle said walking in the room.
“So am I. Now, you can NOT tell mom about this. She’s already mad enough because of me, she’ll be worse if she knows you’re apart of it too.” Michelle nodded her head in agreement.
Tyler opened her door. “Are we going?”
Michelle and Katlyn looked at each other and laughed. “Yes Ty…Lets go!” Katlyn said.
The three walked down the stairs.
“Where are you guys going?” Her mom said surprised to see all three of them doing something together.
“Well, Micelle decided she wanted to spend some quality time with her big sister and little brother.” Katlyn said.
“Oh. That’s nice.” Her mom said surprised. “What are you guys going to do?”
“We’re going to see-“ Michelle clamped her hand over Tyler’s mouth.
“We’re going to see a movie. Maybe even a couple!” Katlyn quickly covered.
“Do you need any money?”
“Nope, but can we take the car?” Katlyn asked.
“Yeah, sure. Have fun and be careful!”
“We will, lets go you guys…the movie is about to start!” Katlyn said ushering her siblings out the door.
“Bye!” Her mother called after them.
“Bye!” Michelle and Katlyn said. They all got in the car and drove a way.
“Why’d you lie to mommy?” Tyler asked.
“You remember what I told you the other day, about Mommy not wanting us to be friends with Justin and Jonathan?” Tyler nodded his head. “Well, we’re going to see Justin and Jonathan…we don’t want her to get mad at us.” Katlyn explained.
“But won’t she get mad if she knows we’re lying to her?”
“She won’t know, unless you tell her. Are you going to tell her?” Katlyn asked.
“No.” Tyler said shaking his head.
“Well then…no need to worry!” Katlyn drove down the now very familiar rode.
“Are we there yet?” Tyler whined.
“Almost Ty.” A couple minutes later they pulled up in front of the huge resort.
Katlyn rolled down her window. “Hey Matt! I’m here again!”
The guard smiled to her. “Brining more guests?”
“Yep! But these are special guests…this is my sister, Michelle, and my brother, Tyler.” She said introducing them.
“Oh, so these are the other two. It’s nice to meet you both.” Matt opened the gate for them and let them in.
“This is where dad works?” Michelle asked amazed.
“Not every day…only when he has to meet with N SYNC.” Katlyn explained. “And it looks like today isn’t one of those days.” She said not seeing her fathers car like she usually did. They all got out and walked to the door. Katlyn let her self in.
“Where is everyone?” Michelle asked.
“Video games!” Tyler said excitedly when he noticed the TV with the video games next to it.
Katlyn grabbed his hand and started walking to the dance studio. “No yet Ty.”
She quietly opened the door and saw the guys still standing around stretching. They obviously hadn’t started yet. She opened the door the rest of the day and motioned Michelle and Tyler to stay behind her. But, when Katlyn walked in, Michelle and Tyler stood still. They saw one glimpse of N SYNC and couldn’t move.
“Hey guys!” Katlyn said.
“Katlyn!” Justin said jumping up and hugging her.
“Hey Katlyn!” Lance called from across the room.
“Hi Katlyn!” Chris waved wildly. Katlyn laughed.
“Hey Kate!” JC said still stretching.
“Ah…the lovely Katlyn.” Joey said kissing her hand.
Justin hit him over his head. “Stop with the charming, you idiot!” Joey cowered away.
“What are you doing here?” Justin asked.
“What, I can’t come visit anymore?” Katlyn joked.
“No, you’re always welcomed here.” Justin smiled.
“Well, I just came by to introduce you to some people.” Katlyn turned around expecting to see Michelle and Tyler right behind her, but they weren’t. She saw them still standing by the door. “You guys, come here!”
Michelle and Tyler cautiously walked over to the group that formed.
“Hey Tyler!” Justin said kneeling down to Tyler’s level.
Tyler froze.
“Come on Tyler. You know Justin!” Katlyn said.
“But before he was just Justin…now he’s Justin Timberlake.” Tyler said in awe.
Katlyn laughed. “Nope. Same Justin, you just didn’t know that he was Justin Timberlake.”
“Hey! It’s Tyler!” Chris said running over to Tyler. Tyler quickly went behind Katlyn.
“Tyler! What are you doing?” Katlyn asked laughing.
“It’s him.” Tyler said from behind her.
“I thought you faced your fear.”
“Make him go away, Katlyn!” Tyler whined.
Chris pouted. “He still doesn’t like me?”
Katlyn shrugged her shoulders. “I guess not.”
“Hey Tyler, remember me?” JC said kneeling down next to him.
Tyler smiled, remembering him, then cowered behind Katlyn recognizing who he really was.
“Tyler, stop it!” Katlyn laughed.
“But Katlyn…it’s N SYNC.” Tyler whispered.
Katlyn laughed again. “Ok, moving on.” Katlyn grabbed Michelle and pulled her up next to her. “Guys, this is my sister, Michelle.”
Justin eyed Katlyn carefully. “Wait…Michelle, your sister Michelle?”
“Yes. My wonderful sister, Michelle.” Katlyn said.
Justin looked at Katlyn carefully then turned to Michelle. “Hi Michelle, I’m Justin. Nice to finally meet you.”
Michelle silently gasped and shook his hand. “Hi…Justin.” She barely got out.
While Michelle was talking with the rest of the guys, and Tyler attached himself to JC, Justin started talking to Katlyn.
“Katlyn? I thought you said Michelle was a bitch.” Justin said softly.
“Well, she was. We had a talk this morning…everything is worked out and back to normal.” Katlyn reassured.
“Really?” Justin said amazed.
“Yep…We use to be really close, so it was easy for us to just kind of let go of the past few years.” Katlyn explained.
Justin looked at Katlyn. She seemed different, much better then she looked a few days ago when Laura left.
‘Should I say something to her now?’ Justin thought to himself. ‘No, she could be faking it.’
“So, how did you get out here with out your mom stopping you?” Justin asked.
“We told her the three of us were going to spend some quality time together. We just failed to mention we would be spending it with NSYNC.”
Justin laughed. “So she hasn’t changed her mind yet?”
“Nope, not yet.” Katlyn sighed. “She doesn’t realize how nice you guys are.”
“She’ll know eventually.” Justin reassured.
“Hopefully.” Katlyn sighed again.
The guys soon started their rehearsal. Michelle and Tyler watched while Katlyn found a computer.
She logged on to the internet to check her mail. She scanned over messages. ‘How’s Florida?’…’Any luck with N SYNC yet?’…’Hey, what’s up?’. Then she found one from Laura. She clicked on it quickly.

Hey Katlyn!
What’s up? Miss me yet? lol anyways, having fun?
I miss it in Florida. All those cute guys you know…I hate you Katlyn! I can’t believe you leave me here in Cali with a bunch of nobodies. You go to Florida to spend your days (and nights?) with NSYNC. No fair at all!!!
So, how are those N SYNC boys? Lance asking for me yet? lol, What about Justin? Has he asked you out yet? He was all over you while I was there. The poor boy, you’re flirting like crazy with no sign of actually wanting a relationship. Let him know you’re interested (I know you are). Just think about all those days we use to talk about how one day you were going to marry Justin Timberlake. You have your chance (at least to date him, marriage is a big step) and you’re not showing him signs. SHOW HIM SIGNS DAMNIT!!! I want to be able to go, “My best friend is Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend.” That better happen soon! :) Ok, I’ll leave you alone…for now at least.
The next time I talk to you, you better be telling me what a good kisser he is, understand?!? Good! Talk to you later!
Bye, Bye, Bye (corny?),
~*~Laura~*~
Katlyn read over Laura’s entry. She didn’t even hear Justin walk in, let alone realize he was standing over her reading her email.
“Marriage? Hmmm…I don’t know if I’m ready, but what the heck. Katlyn will you marry me?” Justin said sarcastically.
Katlyn jumped out of her seat. “What the hell? When did you come in here?”
“A while ago. Your friend has some imagination!” Justin joked.
Katlyn quickly logged off. She had to remember to write Laura back and basically verbally kill her for that letter.
“Yeah, well…what do you want?” Katlyn said changing the subject.
“You’ve been up here for awhile, we were all going to get some lunch, you wanna come?” Justin asked.
“Uh, yeah sure.” Katlyn said still trying to calm her heart from that scare.
Justin and Katlyn walked down the stairs to where the others were waiting.
“You know, Justin? That email Laura wrote…it was just a joke. She didn’t really mean any of that. I have no idea what she is talking about!” Katlyn said.
Justin nodded his head. “Yeah, I understand.” But inside he really was hurt and disappointed. He wanted her to like him. It would make it so much easier.
Katlyn thought about what she said. ‘Good going Katlyn! Lie to him. That’s just great! Why can’t you just tell him that you do have feelings for him?’
They both smiled to each other and walked out the door to go to lunch.
Things were definitely starting to heat up between the two, they just needed to except it.
