"Um, you guys?" Katlyn tried to get the attention of her friends.
They continued laughing and talking. She tried again.
"Um, you guys?" She said a little louder.
Again, no response.
"PEOPLE!!!" Katlyn said loudly.
"Jeez Katlyn, what do you want?" Laura asked rubbing her ear.
"Sorry, I have something to say."
"Are you ok? You don't look very-" Kim started but then was cut off.
"NO, I'm NOT OK!" Katlyn said loudly.
"Katlyn what's a mater?" Jennifer asked.
"I'm moving." She said, barely above a whisper.
"What?" Laura asked.
"I'm moving." She said louder, for them to hear.
"What do you mean 'your moving'? Where?" Jennifer asked.
"I'm moving to Florida."
"What? Why?" Reina asked.
"My dad, he got a job in Florida."
"And you have to go?" Laura asked.
"Yes."
"Well, um…" Jennifer tried to say something but was at loss for words.
The group was quiet.
"When are you leaving?" Kim asked.
"Summer. Some time this summer. The begging I think."
"Oh."
Quiet again.
"What job did he get?" Reina asked.
"I heard him say something about Jive records, I don't know what he is going to do though."
"Jive records?" Everyone asked.
"Yeah."
"Katlyn, I know you are upset about moving…um, wait, what about this, I'll go and you can stay here!" Kim said excited.
"What, why?" Katlyn asked confused
"Katlyn you have been so upset, did you stop to think about where you are going?" Reina asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to Florida!" Katlyn said still confused.
"Why?!?" Reina asked.
"Because of my dad!"
"Who is going to be working for who…" Reina continued.
"Jive records! I don't get what you're going at here!" Katlyn said totally lost in the conversation.
"My god, she must be really upset!" Kim said in amazement.
"huh?" Katlyn said lost.
"OK, let me help you! Katlyn, N SYNC, the band we talk about EVERYDAY, is a part of Jive, which means, that you will have MAJOR connections! Do you understand?" Jennifer said.
"Oh, my, god, I never thought about that!" Katlyn said thinking.
"Well…" Kim asked.
"I still don't want to go!" Katlyn said pouting.
"OH MY GOD, KATLYN, I HAVE KNOWN YOU FOR LIKE, WHAT TEN YEARS, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT NSYNC HERE!!!! YOU WOULD RATHER STAY HERE, THEN GO TO FLORIDA AND HAVE A CHANCE TO MEET NSYNC?!?!" Jennifer said screaming.
"Well, yeah!" Katlyn said shyly.
"Why doesn't everyone CALM down!" Laura said.
"Yeah, she's right, you guys, think about it, would you want to move to Florida, away form EVERYONE you know?" Reina asked.
"YES! When my dad is working for Jive records!" Jennifer and Kim answered.
"Do you guys not get it? I don't care about N SYNC, I have lived in Santa Monica my WHOLE life, I don't want to move now because my dad got a job at Jive. N SYNC won't give a SHIT who I am! They wouldn't pay any attention to me! And that's IF I get to meet them!"
It was quiet again.
"I'm sorry Katlyn!" Jennifer said.
"No, its ok, I'm sorry!" Katlyn said.
"I know you are really upset and all-" Kim started.
"But…"Katlyn said smiling.
"Why do you assume there is a but?" Kim asked.
"Is there?" Katlyn asked.
"Yes, I know you're upset, BUT, if you do meet NSYNC, can you get me an autograph?" Kim asked.
"Yeah! IF, I meet them!" Katlyn said.
"While you're at it, could you send Lance down here for me?" Laura asked.
"You can send Justin down for me!" Jennifer said laughing.
"If Lance will go, yes Laura I will send him down here for you! As for Justin…why would I send him down for you, I think I would keep him for myself!" Katlyn said laughing.
"Excuse me? I thought everyone knew he was MY man!" Kim added laughing.
"WHAT are YOU talking about? I believe Justin is MINE!" Reina said laughing.
"I'm SO glad, I'm the only one here who likes Lance! That way NO one will fight over him! He's mine, and that's it!" Laura said laughing.
"You know, there is a reason none of us like him!" Kim said with a smirk.
"And why is that?" Laura said.
"Unlike you, we like CUTE guys, which means Lance is at the bottom of our list, and Justin is at the top!" Kim said.
"Um, excuse me! Have you looked at Justin lately? Those curls, and that nose and…never mind, there are WAY to many Justin fans here for me to start bagging on him, I would probably die instantly!" Laura said shutting up.
"Good idea!" Katlyn said.
"OK, enough about NSYNC! Katlyn we are gonna miss you!" Jennifer said seriously.
They all jumped up and hugged Katlyn, while little tears fell from each one of their eyes
