DeBoomBop

"Baby Bye Bye Bye, Bye Bye!" Debbie sang out loud with the radio as she drove to work. It had been a good day; she heard all her favorite songs on the radio, like 'I Knew I Loved You', 'What a girl wants', and 'Blue'. But tonight her dreams would come true; she was going to the Nsync concert.

She could hardly keep her petite figure from bouncing in the seat as she drove. She had already made one poster, but she planned to make another during her break at work, The Paper Factory.

After work, her friends were going to meet her and they would carpool to the concert. She had been excited for the past week, and went to sleep and woke up with a smile everyday.

Debbie was still smiling as she pulled into work. She ran in wearing a big, silly grin that somehow brightened the other employee's day. As she put her things in the back room, she pulled long brown hair into two pigtails then went out to the cash register. She was extra cheerful to the customers, which pleased her boss enough to give her a raise. Debbie took a walk through the store during her break and gathered some pretty blue paint, poster board, and makers before returning to the cash register.

She laid out her supplies and began constructing her 'I love J.C.' poster. She barley heard someone entering the store as she hummed 'Bye Bye Bye' to herself and painted the letters of J.C. blue.

"Man, J.C. gets all the girls."

"That's because J.C.'s hot," Debbie smiled, finishing the dot on J.C. Then she looked up, her brown eyes meeting two more sets of brown eyes. A stupid smile came over her face as she blushed, not believing her eyes. "I must need to clean my glasses or something because you two look just like Joey and Chris from Nsync."

"We do? Cool!" Chris exclaimed.

"Can you believe it? We look like the guys from Nsync!" Joey teased.

"Oh my God," Debbie laughed. She couldn't stop smiling.

"So I see you're going to the concert tonight," Joey said, noticing her poster. "Oh my God," she repeated. Her whole face glowed as her brain slowly came up with something new to say. "Yeah," she squeaked.

"Cool. We are too," Chris smiled.

Debbie's boss walked by, jogging her brain. "So how can I help you?" she asked. Her smile was beginning to hurt, but she couldn't stop.

"Well, we have kind of an emergency," Chris explained, looking at Joey. "We need twenty pounds of confetti."

"It wasn't my fault," Joey said. "It was an accident."

"Well anyway, now you have a very colorful highway," Chris smiled.

"How- nevermind, it's probably a long story," Debbie said, getting out from behind the counter.

"No, not really," Chris said, rubbing it in for Joey as they followed her. "Joey just thought it would be cool to put some out the window, and he dropped the whole bag."

Debbie laughed and felt the redness in her cheeks begin to fade. "To get twenty pounds, you're gonna need five bags," she said, handing them one.

"Five it is then," Chris smiled, grabbing some more.

They headed back to the cash register, and Debbie rang up their total. They paid and were beginning to leave when Joey came back to her. He pulled a card out of his pocket and handed it to her. 'This is for helping me out," he smiled, then left.

Debbie watched them go, still smiling. Then she looked at what Joey had given her and screamed.

"Oh my God!" Debbie screamed, jumping up and down. In her hand, she held a backstage pass. She jumped over to her boss and gave the older woman a hug. "CanIusethetelephone?" she asked, smiling ear to ear.

"Go ahead," she smiled.

Debbie ran to the phone and quickly dialed Emily, one of her friends that was going to the concert with her.

"GuesswhatChrisandJoeycametoworktodayandIgotapackstagepass!" she said in one breath.

"OhmyGod!Really?" Emily asked, equally excited.

"Ican'tbeleiveitI'mgonnameetJ.C.!" Debbie squealed.

"That'ssocool!Yougogirl!" Emily replied. "I'mgonnacalltheothers!"

"K," Debbie said, then hung up. She turned to her boss, who was watching her with interest. "Do you think-"

"Go," she replied, smiling.

"Thank you so much!" Debbie said, then grabbed her things and took off.

Debbie arrived at the concert on pure adrenaline. She noticed the confetti-covered highway and laughed to herself as she drove. She got there before her friends and would meet them when the concert began. Debbie got out of the car and practically ran to the backstage entrance.

The guards let her in without a problem, and she found her way to the guys. Chris and Joey instantly recognized her and called her over.

"So this is the confetti girl," J.C. smiled, extending his hand.

Debbie smiled and forced herself to take his hand. "That's me," she stuttered, not believing her dreams were coming true.

"What's you real name?" J.C. asked, returning her smile.

"Debbie," she replied, barely realizing her smile seemed to be frozen on her face. "Well Debbie, how would you like to join us for a song on stage tonight? For helping these two out today."

Debbie forgot to breathe. "Sure," she laughed. "Thank you so much!" Her eyes never left his, and she could have lived forever like this.

"Great. You can hang here for a while, then someone will come for you and tell you when to go on," J.C. explained, motioning for her to sit on the couch.

And she did, in between Justin and J.C. They talked about a lot in the short time, and Debbie took a couple pictures of her and the guys. A couple other girls joined them, although none could get close to J.C. while Debbie was there.

They all became fast friends, and Debbie loved all of them. During the concert, J.C. pulled her onstage and sat next to her, singing more to her than anyone else.

Debbie was in heaven, and never forgot her special day. Her and J.C.

communicated through email, and they became good friends. She is amazed to think all she did was say something nice about her friend, and her wildest dreams came true.
